102  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / re-made t-shirt on: August 18, 2006 05:42:27 PM
I got this shirt idea from http://www.deborahmerlo.com/diy/archives/000056.html

I love this t-shirt soo much but the top neck was ripping so I remade it. I didn't do anything really different with it but I like it so I thought I'd share.
103  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Kimono dress on: August 18, 2006 07:57:44 AM
you could but i don't know for sure. it may have been simplicity? i got it from a book at the fabric store i go to. im sorry i don't still have it. i also don't remember whether or not they called it a kimono or not. im sorry if that was me. it may have just been in an asian themed section. anyway, anyone in boston, there's a great asian-owned fabric store that sells all kinds of silks.

thanks guys. i think it's just that if you looked closer (the pic doesnt really show it) you'd see the stitch lines aren't so hot and there's a couple other points where it isn't how i want it. but thanks i feel much better about it now
105  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Kimono dress on: August 16, 2006 03:18:41 PM
So I made this kimono dress last summer from a pattern. I changed it a little bit to make it sexier by giving it huge slits but it just ended up looking slutty. Unfortunately, I'd spent a lot of money since it's real silk. I wore it once and felt uber uncomfy. I had some free time this weekend so I decided I could fix it. Basically, I just cut off the bottom half and made it into sort of a layered skirt. I'm still not completely happy with it because it looks amatuerely done but at least now I'll wear it.
Anyway, that's the back story, now here's the pics. Any opinions or suggestions would be great, just don't ask how I did it. I'm not sure I know myself.

107  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / sweater for my beau on: January 18, 2006 07:29:46 PM
Well, after a year of work and with the aid of stitch and bitch nation, i finally finished my boyfriend's sweater. he had asked for a sweater modeled off one we'd seen that was very natural fabric and very masculine and rugged. so this is it basically, without the cables. i love this yarn soo much! it's beautiful, its red heart mushroom. i also used it for a pompom on my hat and in my matching scarf which i'll post when it's done. here's the sweater. let me know what you think.
108  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: a bar made out of books! on: January 18, 2006 06:19:03 PM
as a librarian and a drinker, i am both gladdened and somewhat appalled...but mostly gladdened.

I love the craftyness of it. i saw a thing at a craft fair of people making purses and such out of book covers. still, im sorry but it gives me the same queezy feeling as watching books be burned. i dont know if i could have even done that with trashy romance novels.
109  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: spooky bat temporary piercing corsage on: October 16, 2005 11:46:46 AM

He's tough. He likes doing special effects makeup and 80s movies. He's a film major. I might make a transformers doll. how could i do that? there's a book about zombies i might get.
