1  A crafter's version of nesting: crocheted baby hats and a wedding project in Crochet: Completed Projects by craftster_kitten2007 on: January 25, 2013 11:49:26 AM
Two weeks from my due date and in full crafting overdrive (more in a knitting post)!
I made a cake topper for my wedding in June, one less thing to do when the baby's here. We're doing a spring theme with greens and yellows. I've seen a few cute bird cake toppers so decided to make our little family in bird form. I'm not super happy with the eyes, any suggestions?

And then after the wedding the baby can have some stuffed toys! (I'd take off the eyes at that point though).

I also made:

So I'm about 2 weeks from m due date and in overdrive to get things done. These were done this week (plus some crocheting, another post).

I LOVE how the viking hat turned out, the pics don't do it justice but it looks just like I'd hoped!

3  Baby knits: sleep sack/hat and socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by craftster_kitten2007 on: November 16, 2012 10:50:51 AM
My rush to finish all my knitting projects before February continues! (I'm so not going to make it, way too many cute things to make!)
So this time I made a sleep sack and matching hat:

And because I can, a picture of the father-to-be modeling it so I have an idea of how it'll look on baby boy! Hehe

Also made a pair of super soft sockies!

Thanks for looking, opinions welcome as always!

4  My continuing effort to learn to crochet: baby mittens in Crochet: Completed Projects by craftster_kitten2007 on: October 19, 2012 09:45:47 AM
I've begun tackling crocheting, especially now that I'm trying to get everything done for my baby who'll be here in Feb! So these were some fingerless mittens I made. Thoughts?

5  Knitting projects: baby mittens, apron and adult mittens in Knitting: Completed Projects by craftster_kitten2007 on: October 19, 2012 09:42:34 AM
I've been knitting up a storm getting ready for my baby (due in Feb and still so many projects to finish!) And also took out time for bday presents for my mom and sis.
These are the fingerless mittens for baby:

I made an apron for my mom. This took FOREVER! Don't do seed stitch unless you've got a LOT of patience and TIME! I do like how it came out, though...

And a close-up on the pocket. It's a bit short, this was literally the last inches of this yarn, tying all the tails together~

And my sis asked for some mittens for her bday. I like how simple this pattern is but it looks cool.

6  Hats, hats and more hats! in Knitting: Completed Projects by craftster_kitten2007 on: September 25, 2012 05:52:24 AM
So I made a bunch of hats lately for my Aunt who's going through chemo.

This one came out a bit small unfortunately. And I had to trim it after I washed it!

This one came out a bit big so I needed to kind of hem it but I think the end result looks ok.

This one was good I think.

And this one also.

There was one other but I forgot to take pics before I sent them out. Thoughts?

7  Giraffe Hat! in Crochet: Completed Projects by craftster_kitten2007 on: September 25, 2012 05:48:51 AM
My friend at work asked me to make her new little one this hat. I'm very new to crochet but I think it came out pretty good! Suggestions always welcome.

So of course my cat needed to model to make sure it looked good...

And then I was able to get pics of the little one wearing it! So much cuter!

8  Re: The Walking Dead Gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by craftster_kitten2007 on: July 31, 2012 05:14:15 AM
Hi all! I received my Angel package from Bananas 'n Hair on Friday. Sorry I didn't post sooner but no Internet at my apartment and we announced our pregnancy and engagement to everyone this weekend so I've been all over the place.
My fave is Daryl so I got hoop art.

Quote is: "The line's pretty clear: zero tolerance for walkers."

Thanks Bananas!

So my partner is MIA so I thought I'd just share what I sent. What do you think?
She wanted something to decorate with so I made a quilted wall hang with quotes (sorry about the swears)...

Close ups on the three panels:

(Sorry so blurry, it says "Am I the only one Zen around here?" I think that's such a funny quote for Daryl.

My partner liked Andrea, I wasn't too crazy about her but I like how this turned out. It says "Who gives a ... about mint leaves in the lemonade?" Based it off that awesome fight with Andrea and Lori.
I made the bar holding it into an arrow, complete with chicken feathers because, come on, he'll have to run out eventually and what else would he make arrows out of!

As just a little extra, I made one of those dripping blood neck wraps I see from time to time. I added greenish to it so it'd look more zombie. It's kind of random.

I also sent a card with this image I found. Because who doesn't love a sexy, knitting zombie! (So random!)

10  Baby quilt/play mat in Quilting: Completed Projects by craftster_kitten2007 on: June 29, 2012 08:32:34 AM
So I found out I was pregnant and of course the first thing I did was start planning baby crafts! So I decided to make a quilt (this was before I read the baby books and found out they really can't use one at night so this'll either be during the day or just a play mat).
It's way better than my other attempts at quilting, so that's something, but it still is a little uneven and the edge is a little crinkled. But overall I'd say I'm pretty happy with it. Now what next!?

And a close-up:
