I finished (1 of) mine.

Hey it looks great! Thanks for posting a link to your picture. What yarn and what size needles did you end up using? It looks really thick and warm!

I used Lion Brand Jiffy, which is an acrylic that is supposed to look like mohair. I used size 11 needles. It's pretty wide, but it is very warm and thick.

Thanks for the pattern. Everyone loves it that has seen it!

I'm in Ann Arbor too. Lots of crafty people around here and crafty places too. I think you've already mentioned all of my favorites...

That bead store is on Liberty. I didn't know it was still there! Here's their web site: http://beadgalleryannarbor.com/

There is also Knit A Round on Plymouth Road  (2663 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48105 (734) 998-3771) .  And Busy Hands (yarn, etc.) on 306 S. Main.

I don't shop much at these yarn shops...I'm more of a knitpicks.com girl, but Knit A Round has a great selection of stuff.

I think it looks nice too.

But what about cinching it together in the back with a kid's mitten clip? You know the clips I'm talking about, right? :http://www.kidsurplus.com/nol-20026.html

I've seen this done on other garments and it looks cute. It might look cute on this one too. Worth a try?

I love this book too. I also made the airy scarf (which you can see on my blog: http://kristijo.blogs.friendster.com/my_knitting_blog/  ) I'm planning on making the boyfriend scarf for my dad and grandpa next.
