21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Button Making.. on: December 22, 2005 03:32:41 PM
I'm not sure if this is where this topic should go but I couldn't really find a proper place. Anyway...I was wondering, is the only way to make a button with a button maker machine thingy?

Also...this may sound odd but my little cousin got this "B*STYLIN BUTTON MAKER" which I guess is a little kid toy that makes buttons. She never was interested in making things so she never used it. It looks very much like a toy so I'm wodering if it would at all work to make a button? I know that's what it is suppose to do but it's a toy so sometimes they don't always work. Anyone ever encounter a B*Stylin button maker?
22  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / People With Etsy Shops... on: November 27, 2005 07:48:04 PM
I'm just curious, do you guys who have Etsy shops get a lot of business from the site? Do you sell a lot of your stuff? Do you promote your etsy site a lot?

24  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Craft my Scene swap? on: November 19, 2005 11:23:09 AM
Everyone has a scene - a place where they fit in, a group they can identify with. Like, a self proclaimed nerd could swap with a punk person and send them a tote for carrying books, a personal organizer, maybe some bookmarks or something. So maybe we could have people from different scenes craft for eachother and see what cool items we can come up with? Maybe?
25  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Cheap Cheap Fabric! on: November 17, 2005 07:01:41 PM
I went to my Jo Anne's yesterday to get some of that silky material to make a cami and some belts with and I found this very pretty deep purple color so I bring it up to the cutting counter and get it cut. On my way to the register I glance at my cutting reciept and it says 38 CENTS PER YARD!! I was SO excited! I turned right around, picked up the red and pink colors and got some of those too. Turns out it was "costume material" from Halloween and was 90% off. Needless to say, it certainly made my day.  Grin  Grin
26  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Easy & Yummy Vegan Recipe ???? on: November 15, 2005 10:41:55 AM
One of my older sisters is a vegan and the rest of my family is not. She is coming over for Thanksgiving dinner but we're just having the usual stuff, nothing vegan for her. She plans on just eating the veggies but I wanted to surprise her with a yummy vegan dish that she can enjoy! I cook a lot but nothing complicated so if someone could give me an easy and tasty recipe for something that would be really great! Or direct me to a place where I could find one? Thanks so much!
27  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Dolce & Gabbana Top?? on: November 11, 2005 07:29:14 PM
I want to make this Dolce & Gabbana top but I really don't know where to start!

Any ideas?

Oh, and I want to make it so that it has little cap sleeves so it will hopefully be more like this:

28  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / What's the difference? on: October 29, 2005 09:44:40 PM
What's the difference between silk screening and stenciling? I know that they're different processes but does one come out better than the other? I've tried silk screening (the cheap way) and my prints came out okay but they were a little rough. Stenciling seems easier, is it?
29  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / My First Earrings! (with pics) on: October 17, 2005 04:23:32 PM
These are the first earrings I've ever made!  Grin  I just finished them. I used silver tops and peachy/apricoty colored beads! I'm quite proud of them if I do say so myself. Tell me what ya think.

Sorry the pictures are so crumby, my camera is being mean.   Undecided   I swear, they're prettier in person!

30  UNITED STATES / Massachusetts / Cape Cod area on: October 15, 2005 08:39:42 PM
I live on Cape Cod, smack dab in the middle of it actually, and I have a hard time finding craft supply stores. I only know of two in my area, and one is really only half craft supplies.  Cry  If anyone else is aware of any around here please let me know. It would help me out a lot. Thanks.  Cheesy
