1  Re: Tuscany Shawl anyone? in Knitalongs by mcekar on: September 13, 2007 04:21:19 PM
So it's not the kind of action shot I'd like, but it got kinda chilly here in Minnesota and I couldn't find a good setting.  But here she is!

And a close up of the lace, of course

Can I join?  I actually took a class from Amy herself, but then I put it down in my "I don't feel like knitting" phase and some support might be nice.  And here's a pic of how far I am.

I have 15 repeats currently.  And one row is getting to be very slow.

3  Re: Knitty's Katja - halter top for a baby - ha! in Knitting: Completed Projects by mcekar on: April 05, 2007 09:12:52 AM
Hey, look!  I just finished one too!  Only I put some eyelets in it.  I'd give you a modeled pic, but my friend's baby isn't due till June Sad

4  my calorimetry! in Knitting: Completed Projects by mcekar on: January 08, 2007 08:16:56 PM
So I got super burned out on holiday knitting, but my fingers were itching for something.  So I knitted this today and I'm super pumped, since I have to wear my hair up for work.

laid flat

On me

On a side note, I know that lots of people had size issues, but I have a ginormous head and I knit really tight, so I opted for the original size.  It's a hair too big, but it's good.

5  Go Hawks! in Knitting: Completed Projects by mcekar on: November 12, 2006 06:03:55 AM
My whole family has been born and bred to be Iowa Hawkeye fans, even though we relocated to Minnesota long ago.  My sister decided she needed a Hawkeye hat.  And it didn't even turn out too bad!  I would say that this was my first attempt at intarsia, except that I had to strand the graphic because of all the black in the yellow (or the reverse, I guess Smiley ).

Here it is flat:

And here it is on her head.

Thanks for looking!

6  pretty pink slippers in Knitting: Completed Projects by mcekar on: August 21, 2006 04:02:09 PM
I love Mary Jane shoes, and thus slippers, but all the patterns I saw were either felted, which I can't do because of a front loadeing washer, or in garter stitch, which I detest on my feet.  Well, I guess I kind of detest it in general.  I have no idea why.  I'll tell my therapist about it later Smiley.

Anywho, so I made stockinette stitch pink and black slippers for my sister.  Let me know what you think.

7  Re: Razor cami knitalong? in Knitalongs by mcekar on: August 18, 2006 02:25:33 PM
Ok, I finished!  Finally!  It seemed like it took forever, but it actually didn't.  It's not quite as long as I'd like it and I still have to make a few adjustments, etc, but I'm calling it done.

The purple is actually warmer, more of a burgandyish purple than in the pic.

8  I made a boobholder! My first FO post, too! in Knitting: Completed Projects by mcekar on: July 27, 2006 07:49:04 PM
I know the boobholder craze seems to be over, but my sister decided that's what she wanted to go over the cutest strapless sundress she bought for a wedding.  Well, she wore the sweater, but not the dress.  (long story Smiley)
