11  Re: We Love our Blythes, Pullips and DALs swap Round 3 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Lylyfai on: January 30, 2007 08:35:35 AM
Received from Jese yesterday! (I will be sending today when the hubby comes to get me at lunch...I am sans vehicle as the ice forced our Explorer to plow over our brick mailbox. Husband SWEARS it was the box taunting him.......)

Here are a couple of my girls modeling:

Celeste will not take off the darling orange hat and scarf...its her favorite color! And Lulu there was sitting around bottomless until that adorable skirt came...you can't see it well in the photos...sorry bout that, but it is embossed felt with adorable red heart buttons on it..keeps those plastic ...um.... cheeks warm! Lulu is also modeling a selection of teeny weeny tiny itsy bitsy barrettes. The girls are sweetly sharing those...yeah right.... And to top it all off...a refreshing soda....ahhh...slurp. Also included were a teeny burger and fries, but my hubby liked those so much he swiped em...mumbled something about cholesterol being bad for plastic...he made magnets out of em!

Thank you so much Jese...I hope you like your package as much as I like mine!

Well...I have good news and bad news. The good news is....

As a very very sweet thank you, Bhean sent me some AMAZING yarn:

(the pic doesn't even REMOTELY do it justice...I just couldn't capture the quality..so I'm showing the quantity lol).

Thank you Bhean...it will be used beautifully I hope...I plan to make a sweater and scarf for my Blythe doll from it...and any bits left over will be used as doll clothes trim. Not an inch will be wasted. HUGE Craftster hugs.

Now the bad news. In my very first swap I received a darling notebook that I use as my swap book (I love lists and notes lol). And when I went to make a note in it about the yarn.....I noticed an unmailed thank-you note in it.

oh crap...
bad feeling in the pit of my stomach..

I remembered that I had to do a hurry-and-hide-all-the-crap clean up for a surprise visit from my 3 year old nephew (and his folks obviously...he can't drive yet Tongue ) right before the holidays. I remembered putting it there and thinking I would remember it.

Well I didn't. I owe an apology to JesinTexas and especially SewingLori, the should-have-been-recipient. I am so sorry for forgetting that important step in the swap process. I will mail it immediately.

13  Re: We Love Our Blythes, Pullips and DALs Swap Round 3! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Lylyfai on: December 28, 2006 01:44:11 AM

Here is my little (although my DH disagrees) Blythe family:

They are, from left to right, back row: Vy (PDV), Penny Farthing (PiccaE), and Lum (ABe). Front row, seated: Lady Bug (MRB), Celeste (CC), Collette (FT) and Dawnie (SMe).  Weirdly enough, I had been interested in Blythes for a few years now, but only since 11/15 of this year have I even seen one in the flesh and it was the first one I had bought lol. Now I have 7. This really should make me nervous. It has made my DH a little panicky lol!

I receive a fabulous package from KitKabbit today. Girl, how did you get all of that in that little skinny box???

This is my huge pile of fabric scraps for my felt thimbles! You can't see it well, but there are so many gorgeous pieces. Even some silks and in the most lovely colors. I hope I can bear to give them away when the time comes! (But of course, there is enough here to make some copies for little ole me!). With the fabric is the cutest pink PAISLEY journal (Kitkabbit glittered and silvered up the front, which doesn't show in the pics). It is the perfect size to go in my knitting bag, so it has been designated as my new knitting journal! (perfect because my old one is nearly done!)Here is the inside..the pages look like toile fabric!! Oh and the journal was wrapped up with a ribbon which was threaded through a teeny tiny little flip-flop that you can see at the bottom of the pic lol. Its my fave color combo pink & green lol!

Here are my very much loved paper parasols.. closed up

Here's the larger one opened...

and the smaller one...couldn't see the design closed, but open it up and WOW!

They will really warm up my very cool colored craft room! I have wanted some of these beautys my whole life and never found any "real" ones... just the ones that looked like they should be in a mai-tai lol...these are exactly perfect. My heartfelt thank you KitKabbit, you are such a sweetie! It will take at least 2 weeks to get this goofy grin off my face!!

My are a little different from all of yours.. You guys are all awesome. Here are mine.

The large purple one is the first one I ever made....the small lt. purple one with the pansy will one day live on a clip, when I find the right clip and then I made a couple of the "Kokoro no Te" Japanese thimbles...which I absolutely adore! Last thing I needed was another addiction...thanks guys  Grin!

Oh and I wanted to show off my wood plaque that Mosh also sent.. It got rearranged this weekend when I found another "inspiration" plaque and now I have an inspiring doorway!

The smaller one over the door is from Mosh and says "Too much of a good thing is Wonderful" and the other says "Haute Couture".

Thanks again Moshy!!!

19  Lil Sis Box in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Lylyfai on: October 30, 2006 02:59:29 PM
My niece is initiating her Lil' Sis this Friday and couldn't find a traditional pin box that she liked, so she called me and I came up with this...

I used a basic pottery slab construction and TLS tinted with Pearl Ex powders for the stripes. Inside is a little brown felt pincushion for the pin to rest on. For last minute I think it came out really cute!

Thanks for looking Cheesy!
