16  CANADA / Ontario / Guelph's Art in the Street on: March 31, 2006 07:55:32 AM
Has anyone ever been to this art exhibit, or participated as a vendor? What was good about the show? what was bad about it?

I'm thinking of applying. My cousin has done this show in the past and she suggested that I apply. I just have to take some high-quality pics of my jewllery and I'm ready to ship off my application!
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I need help with this Springsteen hat! on: February 19, 2006 08:19:59 PM
Hello fellow knitters  Cheesy

I need some help deciphering a pattern for this hat, worn by Bruce Springsteen:

A friend wants so pay me to make it for him

It's a poor picture, I'm sorry. It's basically an oversized toque. It's REALLY thick, and has a folded up brim. I'm guessing it's ribbed?

I'm not good at coming up with my own patterns for anything. I know how to knit using circular needles, but double pointed needles scare me.

is it as simple as making a really big hat and folding it up? or is there a knitting technique to the brim? any ideas how I would go about decreasing to shape the end? is it likely that a Bulky-weighted yarn was used? K2 P2 ribbing? I'm clueless  Embarrassed

any help would be greatly appreciated! you all are wonderful knitters and I love looking at everyone's work!
18  CANADA / Ontario / BRAMPTON/MISSISSAUGA s'n'b? on: February 03, 2006 08:47:47 AM
There's plenty of stitch n bitch groups in Toronto, but are there any that are more Peel Regional-friendly?

If not, I'm thinking of starting one up in Brampton... would anyone be interested?

I need more knitting friends!!!
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I lost a mitten! on: January 25, 2006 09:05:43 AM
I lost a mitten! My first project other than a scarf, a pair of knitted wool mittens, and I LOST one of them!!! I was so proud of them, I feel like I've lost a part of me *sniff*

I'm still looking around for the mitt, should I re-knit it? Has anyone else everr lost a knitted item that they were proud of? What did you do?
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / The Curse of the Sweater... on: January 09, 2006 09:40:04 PM
I've read about the "curse of the sweater" in a few places... if you knit a sweater for your boyfriend or significant other, the relationship is destined to end shortly. IT'S TRUE! Or, in my case it's the curse of the Hat. I knit my boyfriend a Jayne Cobb hat for Christmas. He LOVED it. He broke up with me 3 days ago Cry. I blame it on the hat!

Anyone else experience this curse? I should have known better! (lol)
