2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Across the Universe Jewellery on: June 15, 2008 03:59:03 PM
i made this bracelet and earrings for the Across the Universe movie swap that I participated in last month... It was especially sad to see the bracelet go, but I was happy that my partner enjoyed it!

Here are the different panels of the bracelet:

I started off with a stretch bracelet made of wooden double-drilled beads (from Michaels), and painted each panel gold. I modge-podged photos from the movie (printed from my computer) on each panel and triple-thick glossed them (I think like 4 layers? I went gloss-crazy!) and also added a little trinket or sticker to each panel

From top to bottom,
-Lucy and Jude all psychedellic and underwater, with a flower sequin
-JoJo rockin out whil his guitar gently weeps, with a star button
-Jude walking near the water.. I added some seagulls and the lighthouse
-Lucy and Jude embracing, with a metal heard brad
-Sadie singing, I added some swarovski rhinstones
-Prudence and ome flower stickers
-Jude and Strawberry fields forever (with a teeny tiny poly-clay strawberry that I made!)

and here is a photo of the bracelet, jsut so you can see the shape:

My partner also got these earrings, which were inspired by "Happiness is a Warm Gun" (and I may have posted these in this forum before... sorry if this is your second time seeing them!)

-Fuzzy heart beads, metal gun charms and swarovski bicone crystals

I think I may re-make the bracelet for myself Wink

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Hi everyone!

A bracelet that I made is a finalist in the BeadStar competition! I am absolutly excited about this, and winning would be a dream come true! I could get my creation published in a magazine, and the $5000 FMG gift certificate grand prize is not too shabby!

TO VOTE, go to http://www.beadingdaily.com/BEADSTAR/ and click on FINALISTS. Then click on VOTE. You will have to submit a vote in each category. My entry is the 19th in the "Metals" category. All you need is an e-mail address to vote. Voting ends June 18th, so get your vote in early!

This is the bracelet I entered:

Again, I would REALLY appreciate your support! Thanks Smiley (and let everyone know if you are a finalist too!)
