22  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: amanda's squatty sidekick from knitting daily (interweave) on: August 05, 2007 09:23:40 AM
I just cast on for this today because your post reminded me that I wanted to do this! I don't have enough Paton to double-strand it though, so I hope it turns out ok. I'm on a yarn diet so I'm using up stash for this!
23  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: How Expensive is this gonna get? on: July 21, 2007 09:29:08 AM
Ive been thinking wheel since before I started! Smiley I just have to rent for now... Im slowly convincing my family to donate to the "buy miranda a wheel and she'll stay out of your face" fund.

well, since my name is Miranda also I think it's a sign I need to start a fund like this too!  Cheesy
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: lion suede pattern? on: June 24, 2007 02:20:06 PM
I saw that Bolero pattern. It's pretty cute, but I've frequently had trouble w/ LB's patterns. It's reassuring to see some else had luck with it first! Smiley
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / lion suede pattern? on: June 24, 2007 12:52:36 PM
So I bought 4 balls of Lion Brand Suede because they were on SUPER discount for $1.97/ball! I justified the purchase because I swore I remember seeing a pattern for some kind of tank top/sleeveless shirt using this yarn. Now I can't find one anywhere! Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Perhaps you have a better suggestion on what to use the yarn for? Thanks!!
26  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / my first handspun ever! on: June 18, 2007 05:25:59 PM
I took a class this weekend at a LYS on spinning w/ a Hi-Lo Spindle. Here's my first mini-skein we did in class. I'm still using the park and draft method because I'm still a little scared. hehe

27  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: this spindle ok for beginner? on: June 14, 2007 12:46:27 PM
I really like thin yarn, but is it possible to spin right off as a beginner? I'm always biting off more than I can chew.  Tongue

In other exciting new, my husband is planning on making me a kicking wheel... maybe even this weekend!
28  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / this spindle ok for beginner? on: June 14, 2007 07:37:59 AM
After reading Knitty's article on spinning with silk hankies I really want to give it a try. Do you think this spindle would be ok to start with? Let me know any opinions/comments you have!! Cheesy

29  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Amazon.com Knitting Book Sale?! on: June 03, 2007 05:00:23 AM
I'm so bummed I missed the sale on last minute knitted gifts!  Undecided

Here's another one on sale. It doesn't look like it has very good ratings though.
