1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Decorated box for 6 month anniversary on: September 05, 2006 01:58:56 PM
I made this box for my 6th month anniversary with my boyfriend, which is tommorrow.  It's got some of his favorite things on it:

This is the top.  The palm tree is supposed to be a replica of this photo I took that he really likes.

Here's a side view w/a guiness cap (his favorite beer)

The inside
a picture of us, a heart, and a bazooka cartoon

closeup of cartoon (its in hebrew cause he's studying that right now)

and a little chewbacca i found at a thrift store cause his favorite movie is STAR WARS!  Cheesy

I hope he likes it!
2  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Use up that Old Newspaper challenge! on: September 03, 2006 06:27:17 PM
How about a challenge where you have to take a newspaper and make something out of it.  Not necessarily only out of newspaper but at least incorporate it in the majority of the project.  Although making it entirely out of newspaper would be pretty awesome too...

I think this is a good idea because after I read a newspaper I never know what to do with it.  There's no place to recycle them on my college's campus so I usually have to throw them away.

Any thoughts?
3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 14 ENTRIES / Mini Mr. Happy Cloud shrine/bulletin board decoration! on: August 03, 2006 10:09:51 AM
This is my first time entering one of the craft challenges!
Unfortunately I do not have any "making of" pictures, but I hope these will suffice!

I decided to do something relating to this character I created called Mr. Happy Cloud.  This is one of my drawings of him:

Because he's my favorite thing to draw, I wanted him to be my subject for this challenge.  I used a matchbox, a pearl heart bead, glitter, markers, gold pipe cleaners, and beads for the little feet it stands up on, and I made this:

Which measures just about 2".
It's a mini shrine that also doubles as a bulletin board decoration!!!

He sure does make my pocket, and my bulletin board, happier!

Wheeee!!!  Cheesy
Thanks for looking!
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled pants wristlet on: March 19, 2006 11:50:29 AM
I made this wristlet out of 2 pairs of old pants whose fabric I saved.  =)

bird detail:

I wanted a frayed/old feel so I didn't hem much of it.  The bottom fray was actually already there from the pants I cut, but I liked it so much I pretty much designed the whole wristlet around that.
I hope you all like it!!  It was fun to make.   Grin

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Pouch for Ren Faire! on: March 16, 2006 09:48:24 AM
I made this pouch to take with me to the Renaissance Faire.  I go every year with my mom and I'm always complaining about taking a normal purse with me because it doesn't go with my costume or whatever.  Sooooo here's my solution!

Also this is my first name using a sewing machine to make anything.  I'm excited!
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Matchbox love! on: November 16, 2005 03:48:39 PM
Well I saw these matchboxes in an art gallery giftshop once that had pictures of famous people on them with glitter and such and I REALLY liked them.   But, since I don't have a color printer I can't really do that.  So I did my own thing, used magazine pictures, and this is what I came up with:

side 1

side 2

When I run out of matches I'm going to store tiny things in it like glitter and buttons and such.  Or I might make it into a tiny shrine.  I'm also thinking of giving these as christmas gifts.   Grin
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Red polka dot cuff!!! on: November 12, 2005 07:09:15 PM
I felt like making something tonight to get my mind off things so this is what I got.  I took some red and white polka dot ribbon and made a cuff with a strawberry button for added cuteness!!!

close up:

It's actually a brighter red but my camera sucks.   Tongue
Anyway there ya go!!!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reconstructed Miami Football shirt!! on: October 14, 2005 07:42:14 PM
Heeey!  Usually when I attempt to reconstruct a shirt it comes out all crappy, but I am actually pretty satisfied with the way this one looks.  The shirt was a men's large so I resized the sides and then took the excess fabric off the bottom and placed it on the top to get the off the shoulders look.  I'm sure you guys have seen this design a million times before but I'm just happy I finally got one of my reconstructions to look decent.   Wink
Anywho, here's a a front picture: (sorry they're so dark, my camera sucks)

and back...

whoo and nevermind my booty shorts.  haha
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Modest Mouse Tote! on: October 13, 2005 06:01:54 PM
Whoo!  Ok, so this is my first post on Craftster.  I'm still pretty new to stenciling but I think I did a pretty good job on this bag considering I just used printer paper and then used a glue stik to make sure it stayed down.  I got the stencil from the stencil_swap community on LiveJournal.

Here's the finished tote!

Comments are always appreciated!   Grin
