1  Help With A 3D Pattern? in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by perfectlyabstract on: October 03, 2007 06:29:50 AM
hey guys,

I really want to make some dolls for my Fiance, because he's migrating to Australia, and because I'm here and he's in the Philippines at the moment we've spent a long few months apart. And I want to make him something that he'd love so he knows how much I miss him.

So I wanted to make him some dolls from his favourite cartoon, One Piece, and I'm starting off with Dr. Tony Tony Chopper, but I've never made a 3d dolls before, mostly just 2d stuff. So I guess my question is a really broad one, would anyone have any tips or suggestions in helping me make this?

Here are a few pictures of the character I'm talking about...

I'm really in need of help to get this started...  Sad

thanks a bundle!

I especially love this ones and want to get this done maybe next week:

I love some of the designs that are done, they're soooo cute!

this is everything all together...

i recieved... a hello kitty tote bag; 3 fold out photo frames; a pink and black scarf; a HEAP of stickers; and 4 bracelets and a necklace in a cute trinket box.

the cute stickers - I felt so happy when I got the stickers coz a few of them have friendship quotes and so I feel like i've really made a friend doing this swap.

the lovely trinket box

the most cuddley scarf ever! & i love the coloursss! the pink is actually a hot pink.

the 3 photo frames...when you fold them out they can hold up to 10 photos! i thought it was such an amazing idea! and I love them coz I need more ways to display my photos! heres an example of one folded out:

my favourite...the tote bag! its made of a silky hello kitty material...it's amazing! i love it SO much.

5  has anybody used this stuff before? in Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions by perfectlyabstract on: June 15, 2007 06:38:46 AM
so last year - i really wanted to try my hand at polymer clay and what have you - so i drove an hour to my nearest Spotlight (I'm in Australia mind you) and I found this type of polymer clay - which was like $5 for only a tiny cube - and being the bargain buyer that i am - i thought "well that wont do"

so right next to that i saw this Jovi Modelling Paste and it was $10 for a kilo so i snatched up 2 kilos of the stuff - then after coming back home - i realised it was air dry clay..

i've never worked with anything except potters clay which you fire, and I was wondering if anyones used this stuff and if they have any tips....it'd be severely appreciated.

6  Please Look & Comment! Oodles! The Bonerific Bunny! [PIC OBESE] in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by perfectlyabstract on: December 20, 2006 09:49:54 PM
tehehe I hope you silly crafters weren't expecting anything a bit naughty!  Wink

Anyway, this is a christmas present for one of my online buddies that I've talked to for about 5 years. He's taken me a few months to make, and hes completely made from felt, and a few rings that come with those snaps...anywho, I call him Oodles. I'm REALLY proud of him.

The whole thing was hand sewn, even the little bones...which was the WORST thing. But I love him <3

7  Love Me? Quick Little Stuffie in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by perfectlyabstract on: December 19, 2006 08:19:23 PM
I was browsing through craftstores today, and I stumbled upon a bundle of cute little stuffies, and I had the urge to make one because they were just SO cute. So here he is. I'm thinking about giving him as a Christmas present - but I'm not sure to who, or if I could part with him. He's made of felt, and stuffed with foam peices (which was HORRID)  to pluck the little pieces off that got caught on the foam..All the appliques where hand sewn but the body and ears I did with the machine.

Enough of the chit chat..

Close Up of his face...SMILE!  Cheesy

Him, in all of his cute little glory

The Back, showing the "Love Me?" stitching on his butt

Close Up Of His Butt.

This is the third stuffie I've made and he only took me about an hour! Yay!
Comment Please?

Okie dokie - i've never really made felt toys...or toys at all for that matter. But I've recently graduated high school - and theres not much to do all day so I thought...."why don't i make a bunny?!" so thats what I did. 2 in fact....

So I would like you to meet....

Brootis (Left) & Koopie (Right).

Broooooooootissss <3

Excuse my face....

Excuse my face again.

Let me know what you think...

they were all completely, 100% hand sewn by me.
Made all from felt.
And took about 6 hours a piece. I'm making a few more...but feedback would be much appreciated.
