1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Crepe Paper Roses - Tutorial on: February 12, 2009 07:03:53 PM
Hiya!
Maybe (it's a little late, I know) in time for Valentine's Day I posted a new tutorial on how to make crepe paper roses. You really just need crepe paper, florist's tape, and wire.

You can find the fully illustrated tutorial here:http://foofanagle.wordpress.com/2009/02/13/crepe-paper-roses/

I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for your warm words! I definitely encourage people to try out this book. The projects are fun and functional (always a key thing for me).

Congrats on your first bag! It looks lovely...I'm impressed you made a shapely bag instead of just a simple flat tote. I hope you enjoy using it!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: I finally cut into my Freshcut fabrics! :) on: September 10, 2007 07:29:46 PM
Oh. It's gorgeous. I adore Fresh Cut...such a wonderful line. And I think your bag really makes the most of the fabric you used.

I've had Amy's Bend the Rules Sewing book for awhile...but just tried it out over the weekend. Here's the little clutch that's on the cover (made from Windham's Harmony line). It's a fun and quick little project. Totally easy to do and once you get the "formula" down, you can make them in any size you'd want.

I made two of these

Is there an Amy Karol thread anywhere on the board? I'd love to see other people's projects from this book...

Cheers!
Suzanne

Jamie! way to go girl. Sound like you had your trial and error, but I'd love to see what you came up with.

If you try it out, let me know if I messed up on anything. I hope you make one of your own!

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: ::Best Headband Ever:: (with tutorial) on: June 14, 2007 08:05:33 AM
Yay! I can't wait to see what y'all come up with. I've just been using scraps I had lying around and I'd really like to see some in different fabric!

If you cannot read PDFs, send me your email address and I can email you a jpg.

Cheers,
Suzanne

PS - for the craftster who wanted to use the plastic headbands. The best thing I can think if is to make a "form" out of stiff interfacing or even some cardboard padded with batting. Then wrap that in fabric or ribbon etc and then GLUE it to the top of a plain plastic headband. I've seen that done a couple of places and it seemed to work well.
