251  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / T-Shirt + Slogan on: September 30, 2005 07:55:35 AM

I want to put a white slogan onto a black t-shirt as a gift for a friend.
I thought I would use iron on transfers, I also looked at stencling.
I was wondering what other options there are and what you guys would suggest.

Try cutting a piece of interfacing the same size as the transfer, and attach to the back.that way the fabric is not strechy in the area under the transfer.  the iron-on kind is the easiest, and you can apply it the same time as the transfer.

This sounds good, but what is interfacing? (yes I realise for many this is a dumb question).
Can you explain it in more detail please.

Hi Guys,
I just found this site and I wanted to say its great.

Here is my dealio.
I want to transfer my own (white) design onto a black T-shirt as a Christmas present for a friend.
I have never used iron on transfers before. I have a HP Photosmart 7150 and will only be able to use a regular iron.
I am going to use a black 100% cotton T-shirt but I am confused about what paper and method of transfer to use.
I guess there is black transfer paper out there so I can do my white design??

If anyone knows of any Australian stores or sites that could help or sell the things I need, please give me a shout.

Thanks Guys.
