1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Do I have time left to wedding craft? on: October 19, 2006 09:01:43 AM
Ok, so I am 6 months away from my wedding and still thinking I can do everything myself. So far I have only made the save the date cards and invitations on my own. But now I got this great idea I can't get out of my head! I won't have a bridal party; only five flower girls and two ringbearers.

I found a dress that looks very easy to make for the girls and I am thinking "I can do those!".  I don't sew that well but I am up for the challenge. Am I insane?
2  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / Long Island Craftsters on: August 10, 2006 08:33:35 AM
This weekend I am having a garage sale and I wanted to let craftsters know because out of all the stuff we are getting rid of are bowls full of beads that I have compulsively accumulated over the years. Since I just randomly baggied them all, they are being sold at garage sale price of 3 for a $1. Anyway, just thought I'd share! I also have yards of unused fabric and sewing supplies.

3  COOKING / Dessert / NASCAR Birthday Cake on: July 08, 2006 08:14:49 AM
My fiance is a NASCAR fan and I made him a cake with one of his favorite drivers' number  with gel and colored sugar. It made him happy so I thought I would post it:

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Summer Earrings on: May 26, 2006 10:22:12 AM
I haven't posted anything I made in a long time so I thought of posting this collage of some recent earrings I made and -hopefully- get some feedback. Hope you like them...

Thanks for looking!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Finished Onesies on: December 30, 2005 09:50:57 AM
I just made these today for my sister's baby that will arrive soon. I used a photo printer my bf bought me for xmas and I loved it! It was pretty easy. Except the instructions of the transfer paper suggested to peel off immediately after the ironing (the meatwad and shake ones were done this way) and they actually came out better if you wait until it cools completely off (the new! and JC ones). The New! one is a knock-off from showroom 64 and the I -heart- JC is because my sister lives in Jersey City across the Hudson from Manhattan. Hope you all like them. Smiley

6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Fabric Samples from 1972 on: December 19, 2005 08:26:49 AM
My sister's neighbor just unloaded a carton full of upholstery fabric samples from 1972. The stuff is really awesome (very colorful) but the way she stored it must have let in humidity because a couple of them desintegrated and the ones that are in good shape smell old. I am not too familiar with this stuff, it is mostly labeled 100% rayon but it's heavy sofa type fabric.

Anyone know if I can just throw them in the washing machine and dryer?
7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Etsy Images on: December 06, 2005 01:09:00 PM
I know a lot of people here use etsy and I have recently decided to post some of my stuff on there. But I am having a hard time getting the images to show at the same resolution I had them. The page automatically resizes them. Anyone know how to change this?
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First bag inspired by this board. on: November 25, 2005 05:57:21 PM
I used different tutorials from this board to make my first handbag ever. It took me all day but I was being a perfectionist. It's simple and light but definetely will have to wait for spring to arrive. Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

9  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / 25 cents for Bead Boxes - Manhattan on: November 17, 2005 08:48:35 AM
I found some cute beads packaged in small plastic boxes for 25 cents last night at Phoenix on 36th and 6th, if anyone is interested. You have to really look because most is just plastic trinket type beads but I found some mixed quartz and metal beads in there and even the little boxes they come in are cute as can be. So go look!
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Make-up bag of sample fabric pieces on: October 10, 2005 01:24:16 PM
I just got a sewing machine for my bday and have tried to make only a couple of things, so I need some feedback.  Smiley This was a pouch I made for a friend.
