22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / easy summer skirt on: July 17, 2006 11:23:37 AM
Here's a picture of the skirt I made a few weeks ago.  I had small amounts of really cute fabrics so I made stripes on the bottom.  It's just an a-line skirt with a drawstring waist.  I didn't sew the front and back together all the way so it left small slits at the sides, which makes it super-easy to move around in.  It was so easy!

The best part is that bacause of the different fabrics I used, it matches almost anything!
23  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cabled armwarmers on: July 16, 2006 03:21:12 PM
Here are the armwarmers I just finished.

I set them aside when the weather warmed up but then I went camping in the mountains and wanted something warm so I finished them up.  I used less than 1 skein of lambs pride worsted.  The pattern is free and you can find it here:

More details are on my blog.
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Wedding Gift and Garter (garter pattern link added) on: July 14, 2006 01:20:56 PM
I'm knitting a pillow for my friend who's getting married.  I'm knitting two intertwining trees that I charted myself using the article in Knitty written bythe gal who designed the leaves in relief sweater.

That is impressive! I had thought about charting my own trees for this, but since I was already worried it would turn out to be one of those "It looked better in my head" projects, I decided to go with the existing charts. Do post pictures when yours is finished!

I finished my cabled tree pillow!  You can see it here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=107378.0
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cabled intertwining tree pillow on: July 14, 2006 01:15:21 PM

This is a pillow I knitted for my friend as a wedding present.  I used knitpicks merino style and I designed the intertwining trees myself.  I read an article in knitty on designing cabled trees ( you can find it here:  ttp://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/FEATdesigningtrees.html) and this is what I came up with.

I found this awesome fabric that looks like tree roots and has the same blue color as the yarn.  My camera can't take a good picture of it.  It really does have a lot of blue in it.

I made an envelope back and made a pillow form to fit it so it can be taked off to be washed if needed.

I love this pillow and am sad to give it away but I know my friend and her soon-to-be husband will love it too!

That's so cute!  I would love to knit them but I need someone to knit them for.  Yours looks really nice.  I can see why your dh wanted to keep it.

That is so cute!  The baby will look so adorable all snuggled up in it.
29  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Peony ruffle Cardigan in knitpicks shine worsted on: July 06, 2006 08:29:39 PM
That's so pretty!  It looks like something you'd see in a Rowan magazine.
30  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: felted bag from a recycled sweater on: July 06, 2006 08:25:28 PM
Here's a close up of the embroidery.

There's a good description of how to do it at the end of this pattern from knitty.

My "spokes" weren't all exactly the same length so I let the ends stick out from the webs.
