2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What scarf pattern is this? on: December 16, 2009 08:20:28 PM
It looks a lot like this scarf: http://coco-knits.blogspot.com/2009/12/malabrigo-weave-scarf.html , but done at a slightly looser gauge.

What a great idea!!!

If you want to cover the 'Gerber' logo, why not print up some pretty labels on printable sticker paper? Then just stick em over the Gerber logo, and tie with a pretty bow!

I would be delighted to receive something like that for x-mas, you have some lucky recipients Smiley

Wow! So pretty! This looks so much like crochet, it is amazing. I am a better crocheter than knitter, so I might try making something similar, but in crochet. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration:)

Be still my heart! You are the best mom ever. Can I be you when I have kids?

There is going to be some fierce competition for that book on ebay now!
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Pretty bottle cover (or jar cover? you decide) on: September 27, 2009 10:34:56 AM
Thanks everyone! I ended up putting it on a glass the same size as the bon maman jar, but without the lid threads, and I'm very happy with it now:) Always trust a crafter to have a good eye! Smiley

What type of yarn did you use ?

I used a mix of Vanna's choice, and red heart soft yarn. The color combo is inspired from a set of vintage coasters my mother bought me.

(*although, in all fairness, I did name my daughter Vala.  Yes, yes I did.)

My bf and I have now decided we will name our (someday in the future) firstborn daughter Adria. Yes, I know she's the personification of evil, but we both really, really like the name. Tongue

I bought these cute mini bottles of ginger brew when my parents came to visit. I was really taken with the pretty green bottle, and kept one. I thought Id crochet a little cover for it and make a pom pom flower, using the same yarn as my ripple blanket.

However, Im not sure about it. It kind of looks a bit like a beer coozie. I fit it over a Bon Maman jar, and Im just as iffy about that use too. Which looks better? Jar or Bottle?

I WANT!!!!

My bf and I have been watching the whole series on DVD since January (never saw it on TV!). We are on season 10, and only have 2 DVD's left. The thought of having no more new-to-me SG-1 episodes makes me incredibly sad:( Luckily, there are the movies, but still, I wish SG-1 would just go on for infinity. Words cannot describe how much I love that show.

If I could embroider, I'd totally make a home symbol and put it on my wall. *jealous*

If you are skilled in polymer clay, a sculpted gate for a frame would be AWESOME.
