1  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Phillip Lim Dress Help on: April 10, 2007 05:02:19 PM
I thought these tutorials from teen vogue might help a bit...specifically the ones by Doo-Ri Chung and Valentine Leung.

Hope that helps a bit.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Phew! Heating Pad Cover Complete! on: April 04, 2007 11:45:57 AM
Ladymare...i love this book, i've made many projects from it, including a queen sized quilt, and they've all turned out wonderfully, so i definitely recommend it.

oppositeofwar...i just picked up my heating pad a target in the pain killer isle next to all the heat pads that stick on your back and such.  it was uber-cheap...between $5-10.

I, along with many many others, have made the new Built by Wendy dress and I love how it turned out.  They seem to have corrected the sizing issues on the last batch of patterns, yea!  I used some fabric I picked up at reprodepot.com last year and used purple for the contrast.  I need to wear it in an urban landscape though, or nobody will be able to find me.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / nobody will steal my lunch on: March 27, 2007 09:46:46 PM
I made a little tote to take my lunch to work in that won't be easily confused with other lunches, usually packed in our store bags.  No more trying to figure out which lunch is mine!

sadly i can only figure out how to post tiny pictures.  sigh.

thanks for the nice words...it is indeed 9 fabrics, i thought i had used less.  this was pretty easy to make and would be a great way to get into quilting.  if you can sew a semi-straight line, you can make this heating pad cover!

It's taken me a long time to get this done, never enough spare time.  Had I spare time, this probably wouldn't have taken much of it at all, but alas.  Here is my heating pad cover from the Denyse Schmidt Quilts book, I love how it turned out and I think it will be getting a lot of use.

Is this the sweatshirt you are talking about?

If it is and you've not yet made it or are still planning to, I picked it up at work in the Rosewood color so let me know if you have any questions about it.  It really shouldn't be too hard to make.
