Congratulations.  I'm sure if I were dressed up, my horse would pitch me head-first into the nearest rosebush.

There is a Simplicity pattern you could look at in the store.   Simplicity 2984
Here is the info from the back of the pattern. http://images.patternreview.com/sewing/patterns/simplicity/2984/2984.pdf

I only know of a cat bed.

That's adorable!  I was thinking about doing something similar for my outside cat, except the hubby has expressly ruled that it is a no-go unless I can make it look like it isn't a cat house, ie, it has to look like furniture, a planter, etc.

Here's an idea   http://www.cat-house.us/garage_cat_house/index.html
This house also has a light bulb for heat, which might help keep the Long Island kitties warm in the winter.

This is cool.  I like how you put "tire treads" on it.    Smiley
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Fleece ball (pom-pom like)?? on: December 19, 2009 07:47:34 PM
this is a pattern for an entire scarf.  I would just make one pom pom.  The cool thing about it is that if it comes apart, there aren't a lot of string-like pieces.  The site doesn't seem to be up, so this is the archive.org cache of it.  It takes a while to load.

I suppose if you wanted multi-colored, you could stack two or three different color pieces of fleece and roll them up.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Cat Hammocks on: October 25, 2009 02:04:58 PM
Great job on the hammocks.  I'd like to see video on how the cats jump in.

I was wondering if binder rings (the loose ones) would work for attaching the hammocks to the wire cages?  Here is a picture of what I mean  http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/product_images/63073.jpg

I'd like to make some for the Regina shelter, but they don't have wire cages.   Undecided
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Dog bed made from sofa cushion on: April 07, 2009 09:08:41 PM
A local furniture store received six foam couch cushions with no couches to go with them.  They gave me the cushions and I remade them into dog beds that were sold to raise funds for the local animal shelter.

I removed the original covers that had short zippers and made new covers using 60" duvet zippers so that the covers could easily be removed for washing.  I used the tutorial here http://houseonhillroad.typepad.com/photos/put_a_zipper_in_your_pill/index.html to make a lapped zipper that hides the zipper and hopefully makes it less interesting for dogs to chew.

I was in a hurry to take the beds into the shelter, so unfortunately I didn't get a good photo.  Click on the image for a larger pic.

>Now I need some moola to buy supplies!

Sometimes you can get fabric, quilt batting etc. by asking on your local Freecycle group.  http://www.freecycle.org/
Freecycle is where people try to keep unwanted items out of landfills by gifting them to others.

Walmart and fabric stores often have good fabric in their clearance centers.  Joann fabric often has 50% off coupons.

I hope you will post photos of your finished items. Smiley
