I've made those, but I'm talking about the almond ones - like these.

they are a pure pain in the butt to make, but well worth the time and effort!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Edible Holiday Goodies 2009 on: November 23, 2009 03:24:38 AM
Ok, good people....
Last year I made some rocking edible goodies for my friends, including gingerbread men, and truffles. I also made cookie mix in a jar.

I intend to do the same again, but need to be able to freeze things, as I swap gifts with my friends at random points throughout the holiday season.  I really wanted to do bark, but I don't think it freezes.  How long can it keep for?
The oreo balls look amazing, but  I guess you can't keep them in the freezer either.

So either things that can be frozen, or that keep a while.
I was thinking of a girls night in kit, so perhaps the chocolate spoons.

Any other ideas?

Oh, this went really well! We had knitting, crochet, quilting, patchwork, someone making fairy slippers, and someone making 3D felt cupcake badges.  I think we all learned a little from each other.
This will be on every Sunday between 1.30 and 3.30, don't worry if you can't make it along at 1.30 sharp!

Hope to see some of you next( or is it this??) week

Mandors will be starting a free weekly craft group, on Sunday afternoons in the store.
Bring along your craft (knitting, crochet, quilting, cross stitch etc) and share your skills.

This will be starting in October, and there will be workshops every so often in various skills like hatmaking, corsage making etc, at a small cost.

Is anyone interested?
9  COOKING / Dessert / cupcake tips on: August 07, 2009 09:23:13 AM
So, I kind of volunteered to make 100 cupcakes for my friend's wedding.
I like baking, made lots of cupcakes before, but I really want these ones to be perfect.

What tips do you lovely guys have to make cupcakes look as pretty as possible?
I mean all kinds of tips, from how to fill my cases to make sure they are all equal, and no drippy bits, right through to icing tips

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / how easy would it be? on: January 27, 2009 02:34:38 PM
I've just seen this awesome wreath.  How easy would it be to try and make one?
Would I need to find a heart shaped thingy to start with??
