You can still find stuff on this site (yay google).. maybe she forgot to pay the bill or is revamping??  Her e-mail's on there, though.

You mean.. I could be a yarn dealer??  I'd rather be a yarn dealer than a make-up one... yarn addiction is much more fun and less pore-clogging.  ;-)

We've been trying to get something going on UD's Newark campus too... for those of us who don't have cars (or driver's licenses).

Me too!  I've had LJ for four years now.  'cause i'm a nerd.

Mine's a real-life-whining-only LJ, though.  "ladyceleste"... I should start a more public, crafts-related one, maybe.

I hang out on the punk_knitters and 20sknitters communities, though, and there's a few DE people on there that I randomly find...

Do you have the address for the old in-house store or the new one at Polly Drummond?  'cause if you can get to Kirkwood highway, then you can get to Polly Drummond road, and it's in a shopping center on that road.
48  UNITED STATES / Delaware / Delaware knit/crochet roll call! on: September 24, 2005 10:37:51 AM
Hey all, I'm a Newark resident, UD student, Delaware crochet/knitting type and was just curious how many more are around.  Despite having taught a bunch of my residents knitting and crocheting last year, I still get weird looks when I'm spotted stitching in public.  Oh well, at least I'm lucky enough to live near Stitches with Style (if you're in Northern DE and haven't been there, you're crazy!)

Let's make this DE board a little more active.  ;-)

Sparkles is in pretty much the first big shopping center on Kirkwood Highway, the one with Perkins, Outback, etc. in it.  It's towards the back.

(haven't been there yet, I'm too much of a yarn junkie to get addicted to beads!)
50  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / $1 Target Knitting/Crochet Supplies and Needle Customization on: September 24, 2005 10:06:15 AM
hey, this is ABOUT Target knitting/crochet supplies, not telling you that they have stuff.. ;-)

Today I'm going to the lovely Tar-gay in Wilmington, DE, hoping to raid some of these low-priced knitting needles and maybe some yarn (though my peace-loving boyfriend may be driven to creative yarn-related violence if I bring any more into the apartment)...

However, I've already heard, here on craftster and other LJ knitting communities, that the knitting needles are kind of sub-par. Doesn't bother me, I'm a thrift-store, make-it-nicer junkie, so my ACTUAL QUESTION is:

a) how many of you have these needles (or crochet hooks, for the hookers out there)? What do you think of them? (any pictures?)

b) how many people have already sanded/waxed/painted or otherwise altered the wooden/bamboo needles to make them cooler? stories and/or pictures would be awesome.

And if you wanna tell me how the yarn is so I can strike fear in the heart of my significant other for fun, you can add that too. :-D

Thanks all.
