Hey viciouskittie! I live in Syracuse and I'm getting my first tattoo at halo this week!  It's a good thing you left Syracuse because it has sucked lately!

This costume cost me about $9 altogether and i have fur left over.  The zipper was half of that!
I made this entirely without a pattern!!  It took me about 8 hours to finish,  about three days of a couple hours each.  I adore it!

Sorry that the pictures are dark!

Edit: you guys replied and i hadn't even done my final editing! lol
I'm making a yellow faux suade purse to go with it--complete with swiss cheese holes
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Anti-cafeterian--brown bag lunch ideas? on: August 22, 2004 09:31:41 PM
Diabetic/vegetarian here!
I eat a lot of salads for lunch!
I just experiment with different veggies and dressing.... its awesome.
I add lots of beans (Chickpeas, black and red beans) and sometimes cheese.
I also loveeeee pasta salad.  There is even pasta that is low carb that you can buy.
You could also try to find a good chicken salad recipe.  That stuff was a staple when i was in elementary school.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Mini Duffles - TUTORIAL ADDED! on: July 08, 2004 10:49:20 PM
I saw a pattern for this bag in joanns about a month before you posted these (which i love, by the way).  it was like green pepper brand? i dont know if that's right... anywho instead of buying a pattern, i found an old pattern my mom had for bolster pillows (the tube ones) and i just used the pieces and adapted it.  I dont know if it is the size of yours though, because i didn't measure.  my straps also don't wrap around the bag like yours. I also found a way around having to hand sew the lining to the zipper (that is what you did, correct?), if you would like to know.  But my fabric choices could never hold a candle to yours.  I guess some people have an eye for that kind of thing, huh?

I fixed the pictures, but photobucket resized them, so they look like poop!

The hairband closure is just an elastic hair thingy that i sewed onto one side of the bag.  the other side of the bag had a button for it to go around... it works really well actually!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / play money bracelet and earrings on: June 11, 2004 08:48:56 PM

It was made with plastic pennies and such, jumprings, pliers, a lighter and a t-pin.  neat!

Sorry for the crappy photos!  I had to take off the flash so pfffft.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Pleated polka- dot skirt with TUTORIAL! on: May 31, 2004 07:35:43 PM
this was one of the first topics i looked at when i joined up the other day and it really kicked me into gear. i've been wanting to bust out my grandmothers sewing machine that i had inherited, and this was the perfect project to start off with. your tutorial was a huge help along with another tutorial in the reconstructed section going into detail on making the pleates. so one cut up t-shirt and some $2 pastel polka dot fabric later, this is what i came out with-

it took a lot longer than it should have, but i'm a newbie when it comes to really making something worth while. again, thank you for the inspiration and the great instructions.

That is awesome! even better than mine!

I made this custom bag for a girl off livejournal, out of an old sheet I bought at the thrift store.
