1  My mouse costume in Halloween Costumes by Thrift_store_love on: October 14, 2004 05:13:45 PM
This costume cost me about $9 altogether and i have fur left over.  The zipper was half of that!
I made this entirely without a pattern!!  It took me about 8 hours to finish,  about three days of a couple hours each.  I adore it!

Sorry that the pictures are dark!

Edit: you guys replied and i hadn't even done my final editing! lol
I'm making a yellow faux suade purse to go with it--complete with swiss cheese holes

3  Re: Pleated polka- dot skirt with TUTORIAL! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Thrift_store_love on: May 31, 2004 07:35:43 PM
this was one of the first topics i looked at when i joined up the other day and it really kicked me into gear. i've been wanting to bust out my grandmothers sewing machine that i had inherited, and this was the perfect project to start off with. your tutorial was a huge help along with another tutorial in the reconstructed section going into detail on making the pleates. so one cut up t-shirt and some $2 pastel polka dot fabric later, this is what i came out with-

it took a lot longer than it should have, but i'm a newbie when it comes to really making something worth while. again, thank you for the inspiration and the great instructions.

That is awesome! even better than mine!

5  Pyramid Pillow and Ribbon weaved pillow in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Thrift_store_love on: April 22, 2004 02:52:13 PM
I made these pillows a long time ago.  The ribbon one about a year ago and the pyramid one after watching a documentary on ... egypt! oh and if anyone wanted a tutorial for the pyramid, i could post one.

pyramid!  It's three dimentional and it's nice for watching tv in bed.

I weaved ribbons for that front part and used fusable interfacing to keep them together.

Thanks for looking!

7  Pleated polka- dot skirt with TUTORIAL! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Thrift_store_love on: April 15, 2004 09:44:51 PM
I made a pleated skirt tonight, total time being 2 hours.  this is good for me because i usually end up doing it halfway, seeing that i have to rip everything out and forgetting about it for weeks.  Well... on with the pictures!

Excuse the messy mirror, and the fact that I haven't ironed yet!

and here's a closeup of the fabric, which in case someone was wondering is from the dollar table at walmart, or elsewhere in walmart.  I kinda went nuts.
