1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Rusted Root on: January 04, 2007 08:39:25 AM
I made my Rusted Root too small!!! I was up till the ribbing part before I realise this. I should have tried it once I start knitting the body but I was confident it will fit. Sigh...

I will probably restart this in Spring/Summer.

Hi Ladies,

I haven't been contributing much to this knitalongs but I had been admiring all your clapotis in the background!

Finally I finished mine!! Cheesy I used 3 skeins of Sundara Yarn Aran Silky Merino in Blueberry.

You can check out my blog for my details.

I had been eyeing this pattern since it was out. I got the yarn and the pattern over the weekends and here is a pic of my measly progress.

Can't wait to finish it so I can wear it before the weather turns any colder!

I am using Classic Elite Yarns: Classic Silk and knitting with US5 needles instead.

Do you think someone who has never crocheted can do it? (I'm planning on eliminating the ruffles)

The pattern also comes with instructions without the ruffles.  Smiley

This is in my pipeline. I am planning to use Classic Elite Premiere in some sagey green.

Can't wait to see yours so it might motivate me further.  Wink

Does it have to be from book 4? I am planning to make this Cap Sleeved Top from DB Pure Silk Collection.
9  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Use What You Have Month on: April 17, 2006 01:57:43 PM
Something funny to impart:

I was talking to a friend of mine who lives far away from me, and doesn't know I am doing this UWYH month challenge. Anyhow, she said she was watching Oprah and there was a woman on there that was in serious debt, and had a "craft addiction"- apparently, she was unable to stop buying yarn, even though she is over $100,000 + in debt! She said that she needed the pick me up that buying yarn gave her...  So my friend said she had to call me and make sure I wasn't having the same problem- so I told her about this and she was V. happy!

Oh dear, I hope I never ever become anything like that woman! I tend to buy yarns faster than I knit but I think I have it under control so far. Time to learn something new-restraint!
