21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Tales of Christmas Gift Procrasshole-itis. on: November 15, 2004 10:24:37 AM
I know I can't be the only one who's being a procrasshole with making my Christmas presents.

I started out strong, but lost the momentum now that it's getting close to crunch time.
I've got 2 pillows to stencil, 4 to photo transfer, a scarf that's 1/4 ish done and I haven't even started gifts for my parents or my sister's husband and my bf's brother... oh yeah, I'm screwed. Smiley

22  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Most impressive Halloween treats EVER! on: October 11, 2004 10:03:03 PM

All I have to say is WOW.
23  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Picture this on: October 07, 2004 12:46:04 PM
I'm at the end of my rope trying to find Picture This!. NOBODY carries it anymore in-store, I can order it online, but would rather not. Anyone have any other ways to transfer from color photo to fabric? I don't want to iron-on - the fabric is satiny and since I'm making pillows, I want the image to survive being washed.
24  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Had to brag! on: September 13, 2004 03:16:26 PM
I went to my local Salvation Army to find some 100% wool sweaters and I found the most BEAUTIFUL cream colored irish sweater (for $6.00. The only thread on it was to hold the tag on! I hated to pull it apart, but now I can't wait to find a project for it - it yeilded 9 softball sized balls of yarn. Now I just have to finish a project.
25  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Challenge to all Crafters. on: September 09, 2004 08:14:41 PM
I'd like to issue this challenge to all crafters.

My friend Keef's website : www.haikupostcardfoundation.com

EDIT: For whatever reason, that URL isn't posting right - so you may have to cut and paste.

Check out "What is this?" for the history. But basically it's a renewed kind of art form that was initially started (around the 1900's) due to a jilted lover and was carried on as a family tradition over the generations.

How To Donate to the Foundation:
The haiku postcard foundation accepts haiku postcards from anyone.
The haiku postcard foundation publishes and personally loves every postcard it receives.
(Unless it is illegal or otherwise awful.)
Please send us haiku postcards.

There are three rules for submission:
1) You must create a postcard yourself.
2) Each postcard must include a haiku.
3) Each postcard must be anonymous

Each and every rule can be very loosely interpreted, except for the one about anonymity.

PO Box 66784

All haiku postcards submitted become the property of the haiku postcard foundation.

Just a little note. Your postcard can't be any smaller than 3 1/2" x 5". I tried to send a postcard that I made out of a battery pack and the post office wouldn't accept it.
26  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / My Snowman Xmas Ornament Fetish on: September 09, 2004 11:53:25 AM
I'll apologize for the quality of the pictures first... I need to get a different cable for my digicam, so I had to use my webcam to take the pics.

The first one is my S'more snowman.

And my Glass Ice Cube snowmen with wire arms

My felt mittens

And last, but certainly not least... my felt snowman bags. They were supposed to be gift bags for the spiced tea that I make, but I liked the thought of tucking them into the tree with candy canes in them.
