1  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Attention Bloggers: Join the Food Day Blog-Along! on: October 19, 2012 04:32:12 PM
Myself and a fellow food blogger are putting together a blog-along in support of Food Day, October 24. We are looking for other bloggers to write posts on current food issues (such as organics, GMOs, hunger, locavorism, sustainable seafood, etc.) before October 23. We're collecting the posts into a list that will be linked on both participating blogs, and we'll be promoting the participating blog posts across our social networks on Food Day.

What's Food Day?

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / What Can I Pour Into a Plaster Mold? on: January 26, 2011 01:19:31 PM
Hi Craftsters!  I recently scored an amazing doll arm mold made of plaster at my local Salvation Army. It is a really cool, 3D mold and I'm dying to make tons of little arms from it, but I've never used a plaster mold before.  What I'd really like to know is what kind of materials can I use in a plaster mold? Can I cast resin in it? Clay? More Plaster? Soap? Wax? My imagination is running wild, but I have no clue what is possible or impossible when using a plaster mold?

Also, any tips on working with the mold would be awesome. I have heard that coating the inside of the mold with petroleum jelly is important if you are pouring more plaster into it. Does that go for anything you cast?
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Mini Notebooks From Greeting Cards (Tutorial) on: November 03, 2010 08:09:22 AM
Can I point out one detail?  When punching the holes, there needs to be an odd number, or the stitching won't work right.

Thanks for the tip!

9  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / ASIA / Re: China? on: May 19, 2010 06:33:53 PM
If you don't have Chinese speaking friend on hand, you can always bring a ruler and a calculator with you. One thing I learned about Beijingers is that they want to make that sale. They won't let a little thing like language get in the way. Be brave, my crafty friends!
