1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Quilt top on: April 11, 2008 04:18:47 PM
How fun!  I like the fabric choices, and the pattern you used really showed them off.  Nice job!

Wow, that is beautiful!  I love the fabric choices.
3  California / California: South / Re: Anyone near Palm Springs? on: April 27, 2007 07:13:35 PM
OK, there are a few of us in the area so let's try to get together!  I am willing to try and organize it - but if we are meeting in the Palm Springs area I will need help because I don't know that area at all.

Best way to reach me is via YM - escapingscorpio.  Drop me a line and I will put together a mailing list.  Invite your friends!  My boyfriend is an artist and is happy to join us, so if you have guy friends, invite them too.

Unfortunately I do not know how to knit.  I refuse to learn any more crafts until I actually finish some of the ones I have already started.

I sew, quilt, cross-stitch, dabble in photo albums, and probably other stuff I don't remember right now.  I have not done any of the above in a year at least, though I have a room full of fabric and supplies.  That's why I need to get together with others - so I can actually get something done.

Hey I am in Joshua Tree!  I might be down for a craft-a-thon in PS area somewhere....maybe Hertrigger and I can carpool Smiley

I am always available to host as well, as long as you don't mind an old dusty cabin full of animals Smiley

I am in Joshua Tree and I am dying for a regular craft group.  I have zero motivation to unpack my projects and work on them, and I would love someone to get together with.

I cross-stitch, quilt, and other misc crafts.  I don't care what you do!  We can meet at my house as long as you don't mind friendly animals (and plenty of pet hair.)
7  California / California: Central / New quilt store - Cayucos, CA "In Stitches" on: April 13, 2007 12:38:32 PM
OK, this is a shameless plug for my mom's new quilt shop on the central coast.  I realize that I *am* biased, but it's a great little shop with a good choice of FUN fabrics and a casual, festive environment.  The co-owners tend towards more modern styles - no calicos there, no repro fabrics either, yuck.  Sunbonnet Sue is absolutely forbidden!

Stop in and say hi - they are nice people too Smiley  The shop is called "In Stitches" and is a labor of love for two terrific quilters (and their families!)

Absolutely!!!  That is why I logged on tonight....I spend too many weekends doing NOTHING and I'd much rather grab my cross-stitch or whatever I happen to feel like working on, and go meet some new friends and see what they are working on.

I go to a quilting thing every so often, but the ladies are sooo much older, and sometimes I don't feel like quilting.  A general "Crafting Bee" would be so much better for me.

I am in Tustin...I cant host, but count me in!  For the next 2 months I am free nearly every weekend!

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Pretty, contemporary quilt patterns on: October 26, 2005 05:25:31 PM
I have been having a love affair with this designer and thought I would share the info -

I think I am going to make "Show Off" for my next project.  It's hard to choose though, with so many cool designs.
10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ressurrecting dead gel pens? on: October 26, 2005 05:22:58 PM
I did get a suggestion from a scrapbooking friend to try heating up the tip with a lighter to see if the clog can be melted from the tip.  I haven't tried it yet though, so I have no idea if it works.

I have searched the 'net too and haven't found any advice.

I guess it serves me right for neglecting my pens for so long.
