so basically you add 2dc on either side of the shell (a shell I assume is 3dc -3ch -3dc) and each of these points is seperated by 2 skipped stiches right?

And for every ring you add you just add 2 dc on each side... so 2dc, then 4dc, then 6dc on either side of the shell?

The pattern reads very confusing to me, especially since this the first one i've ever tried to read.

What am I doing wrong?

It does not look like a star at all. I'm on row 3 and its curling up looking like its trying to form into a hat and looks nothing like what the others at row 3 I've seen.

This is the first thing i've attempted in crochet. can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

5  Ramen Noodle Zippered Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by toomuchrock on: April 09, 2007 07:11:25 PM
Ok so I can't claim this idea as originally mine, because i think i saw it on etsy or somewher elike that. But I knew i just had to make one when i saw it.

Oh and I enjoyed the ramen noodles right after i made it! Took about 15 minutes to make. (the bag, and the noodles!)

It has clear vinyl on the outside to protect the wrapper.

what'd you folks think about it?

6  Re: Tutorial: slouchy hobo bag (the tinafish way) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by toomuchrock on: March 07, 2007 10:03:20 AM
so i finally finished the hobo bag i started on months ago... well before nursing school started in august...

all i had left to do was attach the strap, but for some reason i thought it may very well be the death of me, and since i had nursing school to look forward to, i put it off for a little while.

But here it is, very modest, and in all its hot pink glory.

8  Re: Couple of wallets in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by toomuchrock on: January 02, 2007 03:39:13 PM
made another today, definatly the best of the bunch. Next time i'm gonna use stichwhichery between the layers to make the lining lay completely flat, because thats the only thing bothering me with this one.

What do you think?

9  Couple of wallets in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by toomuchrock on: January 01, 2007 09:26:46 PM
So i've decided that my wallet making ability blows, and im still not convinced otherwise at this point. So i made one last nigh, which was horrible. I made another today that is ok i guess, but still gastly. I think the problem lies in my lack of measuring, but measuring requires so much effort. ah well. Its based upon several of the small wallets i've seen on her. I think someone sells something almost identical to this, so i would never do that with it, but i wanted one for myself and a friend of mine that i knew would appreciate it.
What do you think?
I still can't get my stitching clean and the edges are wonky. Any advice on that?
