81  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Play Campfire on: April 12, 2009 06:31:34 PM
The first thing I thought when I seen this picture is My nefhew needs one of these along with Marshmellows.  We have a private camp and we spend alot of time out there and this would be neat for him to have in those winter months stuck inside.  My kids are a little too old for this but he is just the perfect age.
82  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Trying to post these again on: March 30, 2009 05:36:09 AM
These are two of the first things I made with polymer clay neither are very good but my two boys love them

This first one is Otto the Orange I made for my 12yr old for his love of Syracuse basketball

This one was actually the first thing that I did for my 10yr old which is now in it's place of honor on his shelf next to last years football trophy.  You can see the wire with this close up picture but looking at it you really can't see it.  Oh well he loves it anyways

Oh my 9yr old would love this.  She has gotten rid of most toys but not her pony's  and she has a ton from McDonald's.  I am going to have to see what she can come up with.
85  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Hundreds of buttons from the 50's and 60's? on: March 09, 2009 11:15:44 AM
I also have a tin full of a button collection that once was my grandmothers.  Which sits in my livingroom the tin was her grandmothers and many of the buttons were passed down to her as a young girl.  We lost my grandmother the year before I had my now 14 year old.  I was the only granddaughter she had and my daughter was the first in our family in 24 years.  When my daughter was born my mom used some of the buttons on a picture frame with a baby picture of my daughter and a picture of my grandmother for me.  I remember hours after hours of sitting on my grams bed going thru the tin of buttons.  Both of my girls love to go thru the buttons now.
