Whereabouts in Scotland are you, Sarah?  I'm an Edinbugger myself  Wink

I got my clay from silverclay.co.uk - cheapest I've found so far.

wow. Those are beautiful. I would definitely wear them!

May I ask though... is the clay actual silver that you mold? Or just silver in colour?

It's Art Clay Silver, similar to PMC.  Moulds and works like clay but is pure silver once fired.

And thank you!

My first silver clay item for someone else (made a few bits and bobs for myself, but nothing I'd give or sell to others or show you lot on here!); these star studs for a friend - who has just told me she's going to wear them on her wedding day! I'm so incredibly honoured! Grin Grin Grin

Not really in the Glasgow area and not overly cheap neither, speshly not compared to online, but the bead shop in Haddington is worth a look.  Better than Helios Fountain (probably the Edinburgh "at the back of the toy shop" place you were talking about!).

How are the drops and the beads connected. Or does the chain go throught the beads and the silver drops??

Thank you all!

The drops have loops on the back and are threaded with the beads onto beadalon and attached to the chain with callotes.

Just wanted to show off the necklace I made for my Mum for Christmas.  It's hammered sterling silver drops (the longest is 4cm, the shortest 2cm) with snowflake obsidian beads.  It took me ages at my silversmithing class (soldering loops onto the back of 13 drops was a real pain in the posterior!) but she loved it and wore it the whole time I was at home over Christmas, so it was absolutely worth it!

My class starts back next week and I think I might be making myself a ring, as I love wearing them on my pinkies but have teeny weeny fingers so very rarely find anything in shops that fits.

Are our washing machines really that small?

I'd happily swap mine - the seal on the door has gone and I've got to miss my silversmithing class tomorrow to be in for the repair man to come round and fix it.   Angry

I have a grey'n'aqua one.  And as a cat owner too, I do love mine.  Can't say the cat agrees with me on that one!

I must admit to being a bit of a chocolate snob - I don't like the stuff that is used for coins at christmas or eggs at easter, I'm afraid.

Can you get Green & Blacks chocolate in the US?  It's organic, fair trade stuff and is absolutely divine.
