The nerd in me loves this, and despite the fabric choices, the colors work very well in making this dress look distinguished and classy.

I got my girl a toy iron the other day, you could give them the cuts of the fabric and let them iron it.

Or you could quickly cut the scraps into shapes, have them draw on a piece of paper and glue the scraps on location (circle for sun, square house, triangle roof, clothing for the stickmen) while they are sorting out the shapes and working that pritt stick, you can work the machine.
