Don't stop using that pattern!  It's my favorite!
Seriously, a good pattern goes a long way and detail and fabric make all the difference. And I'm not saying that because I used to own like 20 Jackie O dresses  Tongue

And the girl is precious.

You're a crafting machine! I love the embellishment, I bet she keeps stroking it  Grin

Black patent leather sandals would be precious.  Red?  Too much.
Red flamenco or ballerina slippers would be awesome and they would be kicking under regular jeans too.

However she's too much of a tomboy to invest in those type of shoes right now.

I got this idea from a "metal clothes for kids" site, but it was a skirt to put over a onesie, so we went to search for a pattern that would suit this idea well.

What we (my mom and I) used was a Minnie Mouse model from a costume patterns book, with red satin bow & trimming. I thought the poofy sleeves and contrasting collar would be over the top but it works pretty well. And if you're 2 years old, there's no such thing as over the top.

It does get a lot of double takes since it's a very preppy looking dress but the skirt is made with

Skull fabric  Grin I can't count the number of shocked olded ladies I've encountered. I can't wait to get black lacquer shoes to match. I've tried to find red shoes, but they're all for older girls  Undecided

Bonuspoints for the thick rimmed glasses, minus point for the lack of 4 cans of hairspray  Tongue
This would work well with a hot pink shawl / headscarf.

hahaha dank je...
We're avid divers with a new camera so if I get the luck to shoot some awesome fishies this coming holiday, I might very well order a wall size printout of a manta ray.
