21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: swap ????????? on: September 15, 2004 02:31:31 PM
I have a Huh I'm new to this board.  I have to say I love it.  My question is, Do you  ever do swaps where there is say 10 people in your swap.
The theme is jewelry each person sends 10 of the same item to the host and the host sends out 10 different jewelry items to swappers. Or do you always do a swap partner??

I hope this made since.

Thanks Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

We would prefer that swaps are always just between two people, this way there is less room for a disaster (see the hair jewerly swap thread!). If you need to send everything to the host swap first, for now please do so at your own risk! We would recommend not to, but for now its up to you!

You could even try to feed it on before you sew it into the pouch, for practice!

24  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Buying labels! on: September 09, 2004 03:39:23 PM
Anyone? Undecided

Maybe someone who buy their labels could tell me the type they purchased, and what they think?  Huh
25  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Buying labels! on: September 06, 2004 11:46:24 AM
I am planning on purchasing some labels for my business, and I have spent a long time looking on different local websites to plan which one to purchase from. But I have a some questions, and who better to ask but all of you!
1) What material would you recommend? satin, polyester, cotton twill, satin cotton, taffeta, or  damask?

2) What finishes do you find best? cut, or end folds?

3) Sew in, iron-on or pressure sensitive backing? (What even is pressure sensitive backing?)

W-O-W. What a simple idea, but so clever!!! I am really excited to try this, I have a ton of TOO LONG zippers that I always have to cut down, but this is just so smart! THANKYOU!
27  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: French Company Names ideas on: September 02, 2004 06:38:01 PM
I don't think many people care whether the name is french or not, unless you get some sort of freak.

Yeah really. I'm almost offended that some Americans wouldn't buy something from a company with a french name!

I think a french name would be a good idea, since you live in Quebec! Plus, from another Canadian viewpoint, I think the name wouldn't even have to translate well into english. I understand a lot of french just from highschool still! I agree with lutheranchick, maybe pick something in french that is common in english as well!

I like the word bijoux, in french and english! I would work with that, to find another word that fits.

Very cute! I love the first one, where did you buy the closure?

I love the flowers, do you have one of those little plastic flower looms? I do! I love it:

Hi! I moved your thread to the right place.

I would suggest not using cardboard. If it gets wet it will become soggy and maybe moldy and gross! I would use this needlwork plastic canvas stuff (http://www.chrissyscrafts.com/fullsize/pcsheets.jpg). Slide it through the hole in the bottom of the lining at step 10. Hope that helps!
