2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago on: September 26, 2005 11:07:36 AM
Just had to share that I got to meet Jenny and her mom at the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago this weekend! Grin Eeeek! I was so excited that I think I babbled like a nitwit, but Jenny was very gracious and sweet. Wish I could have chatted a while longer with her when I wasn't so tongue-tied! The Craft Fair was just amazing (I was happy I got to see as much as I did before it started to rain!). So much talent and fabulous stuff in one place - it was great! It was worth the drive from Iowa. Did anyone else get a chance to go?

I first really started stitching when I needed something to get my mind off things. But I didn't really think of it that way until I heard how Jenny started. She's right about it. I really believe embroidery (or any type of creative crafting) can be therapy. It has become my salvation when I start to get a panic attack. It keeps my mind off that downward spiral of negative thoughts (bills to pay, crappy love life, dead-end job). I'm able to concentrate on the needle and thread and it calms me down. I highly recommend it for peace of mind.

Yes indeedy sewwabisabi! I agree - Jenny has been such as inspiration to me that I usually stop by the site once a week (at least) to see what's she's up to.  Grin
