1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Button Bouquets at craft fairs- will they sell? on: September 05, 2008 11:36:21 AM
Hey all! I had a blast making button bouquets for my wedding and would love to continue to make them, and sell them so my house doesn't get full of them  Wink The ones I made for my wedding were centerpieces and the guests liked them so much I gave all but one vase away!

Does anyone think that these would sell at craft fairs? I could make them themed/color specific and have some ideas on how to display them (in bridal bouquets with silk flowers, in vases, on presents with gift wrap, etc.

Also, If you think they would sell, what would you pay for 1, a dozen, etc.

I figured pricing could be a dollar each or $10 for a dozen.

Here are some pics of them from my wedding.

3  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Healthy dinner, 7 nights a week!? on: January 27, 2007 11:13:58 AM
I don't know if anyone else feels this way but I feel like one of the hardest things about living on my own is keeping motivated to cook a good dinner every night and not just order pizza! This week I planned 7 recipes and we got the stuff at the grocery store. I am trying to feed us more healthy, filling foods so we don't snack on crap all night after dinner.

Last night was a success. We had Udon noodles with stir-fried veggies in peanut sauce with a side dish of sweet and spicy green beans!

delicious and very filling!

On tonight's menu- Garbanzo bean burger and oven baked seasoned sweet potato/yam fries.

anyone have any favorite healthy vegetarian meals that they love to make?
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / I hate our kitchen cabinets! on: October 21, 2006 04:59:17 PM
When we first moved in in May they were charming and fun, now they are just too much for me to handle. They are made of a certain type of material that my dad said paint won't take well to. They are the originals from when the place was built in 1984. HELP ME CRAFTSTERS!

These icky cabinets are also in the bathroom Sad any ideas there?

I am the owner, not a renter, so I can do whatever I want to them, Im just stuck for ideas Sad

7  Arizona / Arizona: South / want to do a craft fair with me in Tucson, AZ? on: July 28, 2006 09:55:38 PM
Im new to Tucson and would love to get a group together to do fairs and stuff together. So far I've found several cheap/free craft fairs that I'd love to work with another person

would anyone be interested in sharing a table/space with me? I dont have a table or anything so I wouldnt be able to go it alone, but we could split the costs!

Please contact me if you'd like to do this, or any other events you know of in Tucson!

9  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Love sweet potatoes? Then you need to try this recipe! on: July 15, 2006 07:36:20 PM
So since my fiance and I have moved in together, him and our roomate have been imposing their bad eating habits on me, and I've decided it needs to stop! I went on a recipe hunt and came across these last night. I made them with vegetarian sloppy joes, and they were AMAZING! Even the meat lovers ate all of their vegetarian meal with big smiles on their faces.

if you like sweet potatoes, you must try these.
they are a great way to get all of the benefits of sweet potatoes without drowning them in butter and marshmallows for sweet potato casserole/pie or without having them plain, which can get boring.

Cajun sweet potato fries

    * 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
    * 1 teaspoon brown sugar
    * 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    * 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    * 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
    * 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
    * 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    * 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    * 2 large sweet potato, peeled and sliced into fry shaped strips
    * 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil

preheat your oven to 375

mix all of the spices together.

place sweet potato fries in ziploc bag and pour olive in the bag, close and shake until coated.
then open up, pour the spice mixture in, and shake to coat again.

spread out on cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray and bake in oven for approximately 35-45 minutes. watch them so they dont burn. They don't turn out crunchy like fries, but softer and absolutely wonderful!
