51  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Completed baby dresses! on: March 12, 2007 12:51:15 PM
Ccute Cheesy! All of them. I like the way you gave every one a diffrent detail.

I wish I had a baby to craft for.  Wait, maybe I should rephrase that.  I wish I knew somebody who had a baby to craft for!   Cheesy
and I agree on that Tongue

I like the buttons! they make the skirt look extra special Smiley.
53  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: black and white blouse from IKEA fabric on: March 12, 2007 04:55:26 AM
wow, I didn't really liked the pattern when I saw it in the magazine, but you made something gorgeous out of it Cheesy

I really love IKEAfabrics, by the way (I saw some of you were suprised that IKEA sells fabric; they do but it is not meant to make clothing of it. with some of them, the color fades faster than usual because of the sun or the washing machine or whatever. the fabrics are meant to make curtains or tablecloths or that sort of things. anyway, it is fun fabric and nice to work with and clothing doesn't have to last forever, does it? and it's really cheap ^^)
54  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Vogue Marc Jacobs Dress - very disappointing! on: March 12, 2007 04:42:07 AM
Between bad fabric choice and poor sewing skills I'm not liking the dress at all.  On the bright side, it was really easy and the fabric was left over from another project.
I think it looks nice, and your sewing skills will get better with every project Wink.
You could try to see this dress as a try-out, and make it again out of some fabric you like more. And because you allready made this dress once, you know what the difficult parts are and where you will have to pay some extra attention Smiley.
And I agree with Kanhakanha; ironing the front seam will help as well Smiley

oh, such lovely fabrics! and you've made really nice shirts out of them ^^
56  EUROPE / NETHERLANDS / Re: A question for all you lovely dutch people! on: February 19, 2007 09:08:27 AM
I've been there for an 'open day' and it looked like fun to me, but I've only been there for like one and a half hour because after that I had other things to do. So all I've seen  from it was something some woman told and the 'sewing room' (since design is the part of it where I'm interested in).
they have three 'programmes': fashion and branding, fashion and management and fashion and design and they have special classes for foreign people (and some dutch people who are very good at english), so you will not have to learn dutch (I think that's a pity, if you don't have to learn dutch for school there will not be any other reason since everyone will speak english to you if you want them to).

and  of course, Amsterdam is really a nice place to live ^^ (allways ready to promote my city Tongue)
57  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Personalized "Guess Who?" on: February 19, 2007 08:51:50 AM

Yes, they contacted me about it and I requested that they mail me a copy!  I haven't received one yet but I'm still crossing my fingers!  How did you know about it/see it?

it's the paper I read every day Wink.
every day there's one page in it for '7 reasons to go out tonight' and another page with '7 reasons to stay home tonight', and your project was the first reason to stay home.
