11  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Project Runway 5 (beg 7/16) on: August 27, 2008 09:59:36 PM
I totally agreed with the judges decision on who to send home. I won't name names just in case people haven't seen it yet but that person was just starting to crack under the pressure.

I really enjoyed the runway show this time around, because we saw a lot of the garments during construction and they were nowhere near finished. It was more like a surprise this way.

Also, does anyone else notice that Korto always looks mad? I love her designs and pretty much everything she does. She just needs to smile a bit more.  Grin

I loved seeing Chris March in this episode (I still think he should have won fan favorite last season...he was robbed!) I really enjoyed this challenge and the models. They were all so spunky and very refreshing.

I felt the judges made the right decision on sending Daniel home. Although Keith constantly sends fringe dresses down the runway I felt Daniel's remark towards glitter and tackiness making him want to vomit was uncalled for. I was secretly hoping RuPaul would give him a smack down, I thought that was a disrespectful comment to his clients and to all drag queens.

As for the winner that was a tough one, I really loved the top three outfits. The kimono/samari outfit for Acid Betty was amazing, yet I also loved the nautical pink jumpsuit and firey red dress.

What did you all think when Chris used human hair in his final collection?

I really don't mind the use of hair in fashion at all. I don't understand how fake hair is okay to be on your head but not on clothes. To me it's the same as using faux fur (just for the record I am against the use of real fur), and when the judges acted so immaturely towards it I was really shocked.

I hate admitting this, but I actually liked Blane's outfit and I was surprised he wasn't kicked off. He really doesn't listen to his clients and it seems that (as Nina said) he can't get over himself as a designer. Although, with his tan dwindling, he looks much less crazy.

I am super excited for next week where Chris March comes back. I LOVED him last season.

Such a wonderful idea. I vote apples. There is something so whimsical and fairytale like about them.

I agree with CalamityCJ and blenderbabe22384 the moss jar with the apples reminds me of Snow White.

I have to agree that so far this season hasn't been as dazzling as previous ones. So far I don't have any real favorites but there are so many designers right now that I can't keep most of them straight.

I do know that I dislike Stella. During the first episode I thought she might be a female Jeffrey Sebelia (I did love his stuff) but, after all the complaining and the lackluster trash-bag dress I really lost interest.

She must have watched the show before, and therefore knew about these types of challenges. She and the other designers seemed devastated that they couldn't work with real fabrics (and most comped out and got table cloths). I mean, shouldn't they expect something wacky? Especially to kick off the new season.

I don't mean to complain too much because I know I'd never ever make it onto the show or be able to perform under those conditions. Yet, as a viewer, I am a bit disappointed.
17  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Yaz birth control wallets on: July 28, 2008 03:17:23 PM
I use a different birth control but I get the same wallets. The ones I get are black and have nothing written on them.

I use mine to hand out my business cards. You can make a sticker for the front using sticker paper and software to make things really fancy.

I think using patterned fabrics to create the 1-up mushroom adds a bit more sophistication to your  pillow. It's like classy-gamer-chic. ^_^

Your costume is amazing! I love Jem to pieces and you really did a great job recreating her most popular outfit. I knew who it was the second I saw the photo.
20  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Macro Challenge - Why Hello There (Butterfly) on: April 27, 2008 08:34:22 AM
Really? In the National History Museum? I'll have to go when I get home! Is it a new exhibit?

Great PIC! I wuv flutterbys!

It should still be there, here is their official site: http://butterflies.si.edu/index.html

It is just $6.00 to get into the pavilion and you can stay there as long as you want. It's great for photos.   Grin
