1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Conceptual Photoshoot on: December 18, 2009 03:55:47 PM
I had to do a project for my conceptual art class, but my original ideas were not well received. So me and my sister did an impromptu photo shoot instead.

How would you arrange the images to tell a story?

The idea is that these photos are not meant to go in any order, or tell a story. The viewer can arrange then and make their own. I would have liked to add more photos but I didn't have enough time.

ALSO I did -not- take this last photo (below). Nor did my sister. The camera took this image itself on the stairs. There are a million ways to explain this away, I left the timer on, light from the windows...but still. Creepy ghost-man silhouette is pretty awesome.

I actually laughed my butt off taking these photos. During the angry frying pan shoot I accidentally swung and hit my sister. She yelled "Son of a B-----! You hit me with a frying pan" and I LOST it.
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Performance Art ideas? on: December 17, 2009 11:22:23 PM
Hello everyone.

I am in a conceptual art class and have to do a performance piece. I did come up with a few ideas but my professor shot them down.

I wanted to place a zipper over my mouth so that people must unzip the zipper to allow me to speak or respond as -they- wished. Since I am a female my professor was against this idea.

Does anyone else have ideas for a simple performance art piece? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Okay, I am usually very anti Kenley because of her terrible attitude but I must admit I loved that wedding dress.

I am sad that Jerell didn't make it, yet I am happy that we have an all female final three. The fashion world is still full of men and it's nice to see more ladies make it this far.

On the home visits:
- Jerell's family and friends were all so sweet and (If I didn't know any better) I would say Tim Gunn was totally flirting with his sister.
- Korto's daughter was so precious! She looked so shy around Tim and the cameras but she can do a fierce little model walk.
- Leanne and Tim riding a tandem bicycle was precious!
- I did like Kenley's studio layout. Plus her grandma stories and photos were super cute.

well - I will say that I cheated and looked all 5 designers collections on the bravo site. none of them are perfect, but they mostly look good except Kenley who is too full of herself to back off the crazy dynasty look.

Leanne's was consistent with the designs we've seen from her in the past with some editing and a good structural look.

jarelle's was not as good as I think he could have put together from what he's made in the past.

Same for Korto...

Suede's show was awful

joe's on the other hand was really good - very salable. Not high fashion, btu I bet he walked out of Bryant park with either a sold line for a department store OR a job with a big chain that does their own lines. it was solidly department store.

I'm sticking with my pick of Leanne as the winner even though I think the judges will give it to korto.

I'm so confused...Joe and Suede had shows, too?

Yes, Since fashion week is held before the rest of the show will air they give other contestants shows during Fashion Week. This throws the fans off and makes it harder to guess who will actually win.

While watching last night's episode I explained to my family that Kenley was being made into this season's 'villian'. As soon as that escaped my lips it hit me, she wasn't going to get auf'd as she deserved because they have to keep the villian around to cause drama. >.<

I wasn't surprised at all to see poor Suede go home, even though I thought his outfit fit the theme more so than Kenley.

Another two designers are gone. To save spoilers I edited names into light gray text. Plus I added a spoiler warning below.

I agreed with the judges decision to send Blane home. After looking at that outfit it was clear. It was just like the outfit this designer made in the first episode. They hated it then and they hate it now. That model did work it though, she is really amazing to make it look as good as she did.

I really liked Terry and overall I thought she usually made very good work. She didn't deserve to go home so soon. (Although she was really catty this episode) I actually really liked their Terry and Keith'soutfit (especially when compared with the others in the bottom of this challenge).

What the heck was Kenley thinking? I forget which designer said it but she looked like a giant Minnie Mouse. Nothing said Zodiac to me and I thought she was being too defensive when talking to the judges. I was actually happy Suede got to stay. He has been growing on me. He may talk in the third person but he seems like a sweetheart.

Voting has already begun for Fan Favorite...I don't even know who to vote for.  Huh

I felt kinda bad for Stella but her work just never really appealed to me. The crotch of those pants was every woman's nightmare (as Michael Kors said).

I really did like Leanne's dress. (I think she might make top 3)

I hate to say, it but this episode barely held my attention. Next time with Jay, Christian, and Daniel back I can't wait to see what will happen.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: THE BIG WINTER HOLIDAY GIFT THREAD!!!! on: September 03, 2008 02:04:25 PM
Oh jeeeebus, I have yet to get started on my list.

But right now, I have this idea...

The Boyfriend is REALLY into drums. I know little about them but I want to do something based around this?
I'm actually not worried about his gift, we've been dating about 2 weeks now but we have tons of insiders.

Something cute I have seen is you make a little round drum pillow. I am not sure if you sew or not but it doesn't seem that difficult to make and I think it'd be cute that he could have a drum he could cuddle.

I think Blane's declining annoying nature has a direct correlation to his fading tan!  Wink
I second this! He needs to be banned from tanning beds. It's for his own good.
