61  Where can i buy these hair clips in bulk? in Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions by iampoison on: February 04, 2005 10:32:20 PM
I am looking for someplace to buy these hair clips ( not in this specific size) but of this nature in basic silver,

does anyone know where i can find these?
i bought bags of them at the dollar store and now they no longer carry them and i am unable to find them at my local drugstores michaels or ACmoore...

62  Re: Record bowls, easiest gift ever! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by iampoison on: January 31, 2005 07:57:52 PM
I add a little something to my record bowls, using felt and those glass marbles that most people use to make magnets, as well as paper of my choice...
I cut out a circle of felt and glue it to the bottom of my bowl, then i glue 3-4 Marble feet onto the bottom of that. I also Varnish/modge podge images into the centers... I'll post some pictures to give you an idea as to what i am ramble'n on about ^_^;
here's a few i made (the checkerboard pattern one was the first one i made)

inside (made this one to sell.. but fell in love with it)

inside (made this one for my mom, she thought the little doggie was cute so i left him as is)

bottom (3-feet)

64  Re: Slinkies in What the heck can I do with THIS? by iampoison on: December 27, 2004 08:45:42 AM

this is a slinky
it's a toy for children that comes in a variety of colors and shapes, some are made of metal and others of plastic
You place it at the top of a set of stairs and give it a little push and it "slinks" down the stairs (i looks almost like it's walking)

65  Re: Craftalong Un-swap Part 1a: Sewing a purse in The Swap Gallery by iampoison on: December 02, 2004 01:07:23 PM
Ok so I made this bag last night....

But I guess that was in October so it doesn't count... oops.

I've made lots of purses and tote type bags in the past... I want to try something new. Anyone have any suggestions for a new experiment in purse making? Like a new pattern/technique... something? Let me know!

Oh wow i adore that bag! It is my two favorite colors and has polka dots!

66  Re: cutting records in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by iampoison on: November 09, 2004 12:13:29 PM
Someone else posted in the record bowls thread, how to make them perfect. I have tried shaping them and it doesnt work, I just tore it, maybe it's just my lack of skill. But whoever it was that did it perfectly, just left it in there for too long, on accident, and she said that it dripped a little over the edges, but if you just put it on some wax paper or foil, and then cut it off, that would solve the problem.....
heh that was me...
they are more brittle that way though... since the vinyl is spread thinner it is easy to break  Sad
i also suggest you sit there and watch it...
here is my "oopsie" bowl

67  Re: Nail Painting designs in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by iampoison on: October 17, 2004 07:57:45 AM
I love bright colors so i paint my nails many different colors. Like each nail will be a different bright color. ((like lime green neon pink orange...etc...) Then i take electrical tape and cut it into strips ((very small ones)) Duct tape is too tough but electrical tape has a weaker adhesive so it doesn't pull off the colors. Then i put the strips on my nails diagonaly and paint black polish over top i let it dry and then pull off the strips and i have black and multi-color striped nails.
((this pic is from the 1st time i painted my nails this way... so i left the middle fingers black that time))

69  Another starburst bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by iampoison on: May 01, 2004 10:46:44 AM
i saw a lot of projects that inspired me on this site ^_^ ones that caught my eye were the starburst wrapper messenger bag the wallet and a girl had even made a corset
so i set out of making my own ^_^
to give you an i dea.. the whole thing took about 300+ wrappers
and only took me 6 days
also each one is about 20 calories so i was on a 4000 calorie diet >.<
lucky me, a drug store near by was closing and so they had a HUGE sale and i got a few bags there ( 2 bags of fruit and cream, 1 bag sour)
then a kid at my high school sells candy every now and then and he had the medium/small bagsof the tropical fruits starbursts so i bought 2 from him, i also had my friends lynsey and sarah donate wrappers ^_^ thank you guys
Then i got 2 bags of original ^_^ So i ate 200+ of them to make this... i was going to randomly put them together but stubborn me decided i wanted a sort of pattern...
i used:
-starburst wrappers (of course ^_^;)
-clear duct tape brand duct tape
-black duct tape
-nylon straps that held the pieces of my mom's new table together when they wree delivered
-2 strips of fun foam for the handle
-needle and thread (to sew the straps)
-some parts of a fruity pebbles box to reinforce and maintain shape (like that the bottom corners and weaker areas)

soo here it is ^_^
The Closing Flap:

The Top With Handle:

The Back (sour starburst stripes):

(one side) the sides and bottom are all done in oranges and cream:

Inside The Flap:

Actual Inside:

Pockets Inside:

The Pockets have pictures on them.. one a heart the other a strawberry (also made from wrappers)
Close up of strawberryL

Thank you for viewing and any/all comments ^_^

70  V-day jewelry in Valentine's Day by iampoison on: February 18, 2004 01:08:43 PM
I know it's a little late for Valentines day jewelry but better late than never
this is what i made and wore the week before V-day

the necklace/collar part is made from the leather handle of an old purse
the candies are real and they have been coated in 3 layers of clear nail polish
i hope they keep ^_^;;
and i used a hot glue gun to attach them to the collar and got adhesive velcro and attached it to the back to keep the necklace on... then later i sewed the velcro on because my hair kept get'n caught in the adhesive
for the clips i took regular clips and hot glue the nail polish coated candies onto them ^_^
they held up very well and are super cute ^_^
thank you for any and all comments
