1  Conceptual Photoshoot in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by iampoison on: December 18, 2009 03:55:47 PM
I had to do a project for my conceptual art class, but my original ideas were not well received. So me and my sister did an impromptu photo shoot instead.

How would you arrange the images to tell a story?

The idea is that these photos are not meant to go in any order, or tell a story. The viewer can arrange then and make their own. I would have liked to add more photos but I didn't have enough time.

ALSO I did -not- take this last photo (below). Nor did my sister. The camera took this image itself on the stairs. There are a million ways to explain this away, I left the timer on, light from the windows...but still. Creepy ghost-man silhouette is pretty awesome.

I actually laughed my butt off taking these photos. During the angry frying pan shoot I accidentally swung and hit my sister. She yelled "Son of a B-----! You hit me with a frying pan" and I LOST it.

3  Macro Challenge - Why Hello There (Butterfly) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by iampoison on: April 27, 2008 07:52:04 AM
I decided to celebrate my return to craftster with an entry. ^_^

This little guy (or girl?) was in the Washington D.C. Natural History Museum. There was an exhibit where you could enter a room and be surrounded with hundreds of live butterflies. It was great.

4  Help me find THIS Fabric in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by iampoison on: March 23, 2008 07:40:36 PM
Hi everyone,

I fell in love with a fabric called "strawberry" (the blue variation) by Alexander Henry. I am been searching the net but I can only find this yellow version

(yellow version)

I'd like to find the version with a blue background (it was a deep teal-ish blue)

Thank you so much for any and all help.

5  JELLY DONUT Tutorial in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by iampoison on: January 29, 2008 07:04:01 PM
I'd like to have a link to all the places where this tutorial may be featured. So please just shoot me an e-mail at kittykat477@yahoo.com or a PM here on craftster before doing so. Thank you very much.

Here is my latest poly clay tutorial. I had the tute made already but I had to dissect the images into smaller chucks so that when they get resized they would still be readable. I am sorry if the watermarks and links at the end are against policy. If so I'll edit the photos. My sushi tutorial ended up all over the net so I wanted to make sure that this one had my name all over it. ^_^;;

Enough blah, blah, blah, on to the tute!

7  "Cavity" Large Jelly Donut Sculpture in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by iampoison on: November 09, 2007 10:50:49 AM
Hi everyone, long time no post. I have been super busy with school ^_^;

Base made with:
-Chicken Wire
-Paper Mache
Painted with:
-Clear Varnish
Coated with:
-Clear Glitter
-Clear Varnish
Hair Spray
"Jelly" Made with:
-Hot Glue
-Acrylic Paint

It was pretty fun to make (Although I had glitter all over me for days). It was for my Sculpture I class. We had to bring in a random, insignificant, object. Little did we know that we would have to recreate this object at least 3 feet large in one direction. ^_^;
  • It is 3ft in diameter
  • and 1.5 feet tall.

The whole thing is hollow and very light weight. My professor thinks I should cover it in resin and use it as a coffee table  Grin

9  Pink Cupcake Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by iampoison on: September 09, 2007 08:32:43 PM
Here is my latest purse.

Made with:
  • Brown with small white polka dot fabric
  • 1 layer of medium weight interfacing
  • Brown and White cotton thread
  • Pearl-like snap button
  • Brown nylon zipper

The Bag Has:
  • Two cupcake fabric pockets
  • Has one inner lined zipper pocket.
  • Has a matching zipper pouch with coordinating zipper and fabrics. (seen below)

I am pretty proud of this bag. It is my first time sewing an inner lined zipper pocket.  Smiley It actually wasn't that hard. I used the lovely tutorial by SewPixie here on craftster.
(Tute found here:https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11808.0 )
I do wish I had used brown thread instead of white when I sewed the zipper to the pocket (can be seen in pictures below)

10  Burp Cloths in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by iampoison on: September 01, 2007 10:20:31 AM
I know you have all seen burp cloths before, but you haven't seen mine.

My cousin is due in November so as part of her present I made a few burp cloths. Mine are a wee bit different because I designed up boutique like labels for fun.

Here are the pics:

The Manly Man Burp Cloth (for her husband)

The Girly Girl Burp cloth for my cousin
(I am giving her two, this one and a pink gingham ice cream one)

Label Details:

The Girly Girl

"For the woman who wants sugar and spice."

The Manly Man

"For the man who doesn't want flowers and bears."

I think it's pretty cute and fun. I designed and printed the labels in Photoshop. My cousin really is a girly girl so I think those are appropriate. Plus I figure her husband wouldn't want to wear such girly things so even though they are having a little girl I made him a more manly one.

What do you think?
