2  Ohio / Ohio: Southwest / Cincinnati craftster meet up? C'mon, I won't bite! on: February 19, 2006 03:07:59 PM
Is anyone interested in meeting fellow Cincy craftsters?  We could take over a coffee house for an evening or something.
Okay, I see people have read this!  Don't be shy!
I'll inroduce myself.  My name is Lara(surprise!), I live in Northside.  I am currently crocheting and sewing.  I love to go thrifting, I wish we had better craft stores, other than the chain variety.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Why I started crocheting again after ...... years on: January 22, 2006 12:15:50 PM
I think there are a lot of us that learned to crochet eons ago, but recently picked it up again.  Just curious as to every one's reasons why.
I first learned about 21 years ago, from my step-grandmother.  I made lots of rainbow yarn, wacky stitch barbie stuff.  Stopped until sometime in college, got frustrated, stopped.  Picked it up again a few years later, stopped and got rid of crochet stuff.  Made a really bad acrylic blanket for my nephew five years ago(my sil gave it back a year ago, for my daughter.  We use it for picnics.)  Taught myself to knit two years ago, loved it.  Kills my shoulders since I am also a massage therapist.  Decided to take up crochet again, I can work with one sore shoulder.  I have taught myself to read patterns and diagrams, I think I am at an intermediate level now.  I like to make up my own stuff.  I have gotten tons of inspiration from Craftster, and I can't stop crocheting.
I'm making up a dragon puppet for my daughter right now!
Okay, now you tell me your story! Grin
