1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday 5.8.09 @#$%*! on: May 17, 2009 07:19:38 PM
I haven't been spinning at all lately and when I don't spin I end up forgetting to look at the Fiber Friday threads.  I should have some yarn next week, I just bought a ton of fiber!  Anyway, beautiful yarn, everyone, and I love the blue stain on the Ashford wheel, so pretty.

Lots of pretty yarn so far this week.
I just have this 250yd skein of wool/llama/mohair.  It's a light fingering weight single that's a little kinky but the skein is balanced.  I wish I had some more of this, I love how the color came out and I forgot to write down how I dyed it!

Beautiful yarns, as always, this week.  I love drooling over yarn every Friday.

Just one for me this week.  This is some wool/llama/mohair that I spun lace weight.  This is my first lace weight yarn so it's a little thick in spots but I really like it.

Thanks for the PM!  I'm interested, late spring to early summer sounds good to me, too, and it gives me an excuse to buy some more roving.

I'll join the chorus of people wanting a drum carder.  I almost bought one last winter and then I had to drop $200 taking my cat to the vet (she got in a fight with a stray and had a cut that got infected, she's fine now!) so that killed any spending I wanted to do.

Beautiful yarns again this week!  I haven't had internet access since Friday morning, so here's mine, a little late.  I actually spun this a couple weeks ago but it's been too dark to get a decent picture.  This is some wool/mohair/llama mix that I dyed into one hunk of purple and orange roving.  I split the colors apart and spun two skeins.  The orange has purple slubs and a ton of sparkle, you just can't see it in the picture, and is plyed with pink thread.  The purple has some orange spots spun in and is candy striped with the same pink thread.  They're tiny skeins, like twenty yards or so, and really bulky.

These are very cool.  I love the colors you got!

I don't have anything to show this week, I've been spinning singles that will eventually end up a lace weight two ply, but I just wanted to say how pretty all the yarn is.  Beautiful!

I hit "This Rocks", too.  Is the strap tablet woven or pick up?  Love it!

I love Shetland.  The fiber is beautiful, love that honey color and your sheep are cute.

They both look great!  I like them as singles, too.
