1  Re: Dollar Store Swap gallery (round 3) in The Swap Gallery by lexbean on: January 21, 2007 09:51:40 PM
i'm uber-late posting this, but here are the pix of my great package from topstitch girl. i really love everything. now i've owned fingerless gloves before, but these are so cool. check out the red hotness! they climb up my arm and keep me so much warmer. i'm wearing them all the time. can't take them off. seriously.  plus, a cute squishy red heart. p.s. red is my favorite color. yum.

holy crap she rox. this is a grey shirt with the word vegetarian in chinese embroidered on it. i have no words for the coolness. who can tell this is a dollar store swap?

in a valentine's tin i found my little jewelled treasures. a bracelet,

and a really great necklace, that this photo doesn't do justice to.

thx so much topstitch. i'd love to do a personal swap with you anytime!

It is really sad about Kara; I don't know her but I read the message yesterday and felt terrible.  Sad
Onto a much happier note, I received THE BEST SWAP PACKAGE OF ALL TIME. I've received good stuff before; this is ridiculous. rockiegirl rox.

the goods together. we're both veggie heads so she sent peta info, lots o' veggie stickers, and a really cute veggie comic strip. check out my hot new record bowls, an adorable melted bead heart, and the sweetest swap-related card ever.

BEAUTIFUL recycled paper notecards with my fav colors and musical motifs (i'm a musician)

a tampon cozy! with tampons in it!!!!

a gorgeous necklace made of wooden beads and ribbon

and a book purse. her first ever, and my first too. i'm inspired.

I LOVE this package. I feel totally spoiled!!! thank you rockiegirl!!!!!

So many little goodies: skull shoelaces, an itsy-bitsy picture frame, a tiny notepad, chocolate coins, pretty bobby pins, my name spelled out in keyboard keys:), a butterfly eraser, flip-flop hair toys to use for crafting, and coolest of all: an alto clef handmade blank book!!!!! SO COOL!!!

6  Re: Pringles Candles in Completed Projects by lexbean on: April 06, 2006 11:06:59 PM
thank you for all the kind words! it's nice to feel appreciated by such talented people, especially for a craft that was so time consuming. (my friend was VERY thankful, though.)

the candle holder was fun to do. i took her initials and designed that pattern, and then created a stencil for it out of masking tape before etching. she didn't see it was her initials at first--realized over a week later! made me feel good:)

i doubt i'd sell the candles, but if you want to work out some sort of personal swap (it would have to be next month for me) i would LOVE to--pm me. i <3 personal swaps.

hey check it out--i just made sushi candles from a diy kit:

i got the kit on etsy. how cute are these?

Hey everybody. My walls were naked and I had a surplus of empty CD cases.

This is my super adorable cousin, Jackeline.

8  Pringles Candles in Completed Projects by lexbean on: April 06, 2006 09:06:44 AM
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this? Feel free to move it:)

So I like to use empty containers as candle molds. I made these three candles (very slowly, layer by layer) in empty pringles containers. I'm pretty proud of them; they burn very slowly and still have scent over a year after I poured them!

They were for a friend's birthday, so I etched this glass candle holder with her initials, Y and C:
