4  Weld-a-pig! in Completed Projects by pickledkitty on: April 10, 2005 09:08:06 PM
So my hubby has been taking welding courses at his community college. He needed to practice/was bored, so he went to the hobby shop on Camp Lejuene base, took some metal out of the scrap bin, and he came up with this super cool, heavy(20 lbs.) Piggy bank! He asked me to post this for him, and he really wants to know what ya'll think;p Enjoy!

5  Re: Neil Gaiman Goods! in The Swap Gallery by pickledkitty on: March 05, 2005 09:38:14 PM
Here are my gaiman goodies received from IqJones;p

She art-ed from no less than 3 books, Coraline, Good Omens, and Sandman (mostly Delirium.) The first is a closet with a pic of Coraline, next, a little notebook that says,"The nice and accurate prophecies of Agnes Nutter", and last, but not least, some neat-o shrinky dink pendants and buttons with Delirium on them. Thanks IqJones!

P.s. Shrinkydinks must be in season, cause I used them for Slybettys things also;p

6  Avatar: Talk about craftiness! in Discussion and Questions by pickledkitty on: February 11, 2005 10:31:33 AM
As a blatant copy of Comfits post about the user names, I thought that I would start a "how'd ya pick that cool avatar?" thread.

So how 'bout we all "   take a minute & share with all of the crafty folk how/why we selected our avatars??

I'll go first with my explanation. My brother started a writing forum: http://www.arcane-artistry.net/ which he designed everything by himself. I wanted to support his effort, so I decided to join. But since he is younger than me, I decided that I couldn't let him surpass me in the do-it-yourself-design quotient, I decided to design my own avatar.

I scoured the net searching for something that I liked. Finally deciding on 3 different pictures, I used paintshop to merge them together until they were what I wanted. So I got this and then about a week ago, I decided to change that and using photoshop and a pair of dragon wings from an Amy Brown postcard, I got what I currently have;p

Allright grrrlies and a few boyzzz;p Now is your turn! I can't wait to read about some of the awesome avatars on this board!

7  Calvin and Peekaboo tyvek bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by pickledkitty on: January 25, 2005 10:08:11 PM
So I saw the tyvek baggie post, and decided to make one of my own. It sure was interesting learning how to do a first timer zipper;p I free handed the images from comics that I like. Hope yall enjoy!

and the other side

for any who are wondering, the text on the Calvin and Hobbs one says:

Calvin, "I am growing my fingernails long." 2"Then I'll file them into points, so I'll have claws just like you."
Hobbs, "Mine are retractable."
Calvin, "No retractable claws, No opposable toes, No prehensile tail, No compound eyes, No fangs, No wings.... SIGH"

I had a lot of fun doing this, even though my digi camera is on the fritz, and will no longer focus well. (I can't blame it all on the camera though;p)
