1  Home made advent calendar in Winter Holidays by Elowen on: February 28, 2009 04:16:43 PM
I made this for my children after a disappointing attempt to find customizable advent calendar. I didn't want to go with the cheap box of chocolate with the little tear open windows.  I saw some at a department store that was a box with little drawers or doors to open, but they didn't seem very sturdy and were barely big enough for two tic tacs, hardly worth the $30-$50 dollars they were charging.   The pyramid boxes found at the dollar store were my inspiration.  I filled them with finger puppets and candy(buttons, necklaces, suckers and mini chocolate bars) and hung them some dollar store garland.  Added stickers numbered 1-24 and let the count down begin.

2  Mandi's Orange You Glad It's Reversible? Purse or The Citrus Punch Purse in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by Elowen on: February 28, 2009 03:57:17 PM
I crocheted this purse for my friend and co-worker Mandi.  Se was going through my crochet and kitting books and fell in love with the "Orange you Glad" purse.  I told her I would give a shot but I had never done any color change other than stripes.  I finished the the first orange and decided the it needed a lining in order to be effective.  Then it occurred to me that I was essentially going to be crocheting another purse so why not make it reversible?  The decision to change the handle came when I found these  cool acrylic ones at Joann.  It turned out kind of bulky.  But Mandi loves it.

3  One hour baby booties - Pink in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by Elowen on: February 28, 2009 03:41:04 PM
I made these booties as part of a set.  They were almost too cute to give away.

It's hard to tell with the blurriness of the photos but the buttons are little white roses.

Here they are again with the crocheted "Sweet Pea Bonnet"

7  Re: Christmas stocking anyone? in Knitalongs by Elowen on: December 11, 2007 09:13:28 AM
Ok, I've finished all four of them (will make my grand-nieces if I have time to after I've done the rest of my Christmas crafting).  I haven't felted them yet.  I'm kind of nervous to, I haven't felted anything yet.  I'm not sure if I should embroider or duplicate stitch the names on them, also not sure if I should do it before or after felting.
From left to right they are for Claire, Luke, Cedric and me.

My stocking with my pretty 360 controller to give you an idea how big they are.

8  Re: Star Baby Blanket~Along in Crochetalongs by Elowen on: December 11, 2007 09:01:51 AM
I made two star blankets, the first one is dark green and white with blue verigated. I think I'll give it to my godson Riley for Christmas.

This one is black with green and blue verigated yarn.  It's for my son Cedric. I messed something up on this one though, it's kind of puckered.  I'm hoping that it'll smooth out a little after it's been washed.  Also I added tassels to all the points.  I didn't go through all 60+ pages of posts, so maybe someone else has done it, bit I like the way it looks, it makes me think of a shooting star.

I made this little purse for my niece Angela who is both monkey and punk obsessed.  I got the little bag at Joann's for $2.99 I think.
