2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my dad's shirt looks better like this on: August 08, 2009 03:10:01 PM
This is my version of duckjustaduck's pinup halter dress found here:

It's so adorable i thought it's definitely a MUST-DO!

So I took one of my dad's shirts (with permission of course Tongue) and started cutting away. I was so excited that  I couldn't stop working til I finished! (I didn't even remember to take a before picture)

The shirt wasn't long enough to be a dress or tunic so i opted for a top instead. I also had to do more darts in the chest area to make it fit better.

Then I realized that the halter strap may be a little disproportionate to the print and the top itself so I modified it a little bit and changed the strap to a thicker one.

Any opinions? Thicker strap = more balanced?
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / a better use for jeans that don't fit on: August 08, 2009 08:36:44 AM
I did this recon a while back, hence the photo quality (good ol' webcam days) but never got to post it on here.

So here it is, a messenger bag made from jeans that didn't fit so well. I just winged the whole thing Smiley

The white denim material came from another pair of pants that i turned into a skirt found on here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=50688.0 (Yes, the missing pocket from the messenger bag, went to the skirt!)

and there you go! Enjoy Smiley
