2  Oregon / Oregon: Northwest / Portland Crafty Wonderland in May on: April 27, 2006 07:16:07 PM
Hey there gang, I am going to be participating in the monthly craft show that is coming round again on May 14th (Sunday) at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland. I went to the one in April and it was super cool! Our beloved Church of Craft was there with a table of all kinds of goodies to make these little shrines out of small metal tins. Please come show your support if you're in the area.

PS- My table will be "Addie Pearl Jewelry Design" so be sure to come say hi if you are a craftster nerd like me.
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / I'd like you to meet...Squidly. on: January 22, 2006 11:28:21 AM
Hey gang, it's been a while since I've posted so I thought I'd check in. This is a cute little guy who measures 3.5" long and about half an inch to one inch across. It's a pin, made out of wool felt and I just adore him.

The pattern was the hardest part because I really wrestled with accuracy versus feasibility. (cutting out 8 legs is a MAJOR pain in the ass) So this is what I settled on.

PS- And for those of you who just can't get enough sea life, here are some octopi that I did for a friend of mine (they're not too clean in the picture, but you get the idea). Can you ever have enough cephladpods really??

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / EASY-CHEEZY FLOWER BRACELETS on: October 30, 2005 04:46:16 PM
I got 2 huge boxes of black snaps yesterday at an antique show so I was trying to come up with an idea to use them. I also have fifty-ka-million pieces of scrap felt so I ran and grabbed my bag of grosgrain ribbon that I've been hanging onto for years and this is what I came up with:

Here's a close up:

Simple and FABULOUS!! God I love felt, sequins, beads and snaps. I've been working with a lot of fall colors lately so the burst of color is a nice change. Let me know what you think please.
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / The Latest Felt Baubles on: October 15, 2005 10:02:37 PM
Wow, it feels like forever since I've posted. I am working on some holiday/seasonal baubles and this is what I've come up with for a first try. I think they still need some "fine tuning" but they're a good start. Let me know what you think...

This is going to be a pin:

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Felty Goodness Pendants on: August 28, 2005 02:23:29 PM
So I've been dinking around and wanted to know what you guys thought of these. It's kinda more evolution on the baubles I make. Thank the gods for metal eyelets!!

Here's one on a chain necklace:

More pendants waiting for a chain:

(do they look too plain? or too squished on the circle?) Please let me know. I'm not sure if I fully like them yet.

I've cut out some different shaped pendants so I'll post them after I sew them together.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Felt Ladybugs (and now some sugary treats added!) on: August 07, 2005 07:46:35 PM
Here's how I spent my afternoon:

Update (8-13-05) : I just finished these tonight and feel the need to spread the crafty love. I got a Hello Kitty stencil set and found these shapes in there. I owe all these to that big headed girly with whiskers.

Here's the same pic. a bit closer

This is something I just finished that I'm pretty proud of. I used a stencil and drew on one of my betty bracelets. Just wanted to share.

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Addison's first quilt patches on: June 23, 2005 07:39:27 PM
Hi, I don't think I've ever posted in this spot before. My 8 (almost 9) year old daughter is just itching to learn how to make a quilt. This is a picture of the first 2 patches she's made:

They are both made out of craft felt and she is VERY proud. On the green star she even stitched my name "Joey" underneath. She just whipped it out all by herself. Please let her know what you guys think and I'll pass on the emails.

Thank you all,

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Felty Mushrooms, Fruit & a Bunny on: June 23, 2005 07:32:53 PM
I was very inspired by the cute little clay mushroom pendants that [bilonavg[/b] has posted so here's what I came up with:

And here's what my 8 year old daughter came up with:

She's really wanting to learn how to make a quilt too so I am putting a  post of her first 2 patches in the quilting completed projects section. She is stoked!!
Hope ya like 'em!
