1  Re: Cable Luxe Tunic KAL? in Knitalongs by rougeau26 on: November 12, 2007 10:55:30 AM
So I finished my Tunic last week and I finally got my friends to take some photos.  My camera's not the best, so I'm apologizing in advance for the poor picture quality.  I'm hoping to take some more with my dad's camera next week.

This was such a fun knit!  I based mine off of the Lion Brand version.  I used Wool-Ease in Violet (I think) on size 7 and 8 needles and knitted the smallest size.  I didn't end up making any changes, although I do wish my cables on the front and back were going opposite ways... I didn't realize their mistake in the pattern until I had almost the whole front done and was too lazy to frog it and start over.

Ok, so here's my progress so far!  I finished the back and the front, and just picked up stitches to start the first sleeve.  When I get knitting it goes pretty fast, but I have to keep putting it down and making time for homework instead... *sigh*   Hopefully I'll finish this within the next 2 weeks!

Here's a shirt that I designed for my college's annual student fashion show.  I tea stained the fabric, then embroidered angel wings to attach onto the back.   Smiley  It's so much fun to wear!

So our college just had its annual student designed, student run fashion show, and it was a blast! I had 5 designs in the show, 4 of them were designed by me and the 5th was Rowan Butterfly.  I also made a necklace and 2 hats.  I'm only posting the knit designs here, but feel free to check out the rest on flickr or on my blog!!

My outfit.

The top of this dress is knit with Lion Brand Wool Ease Chunky.  The edging is all hand crocheted.

group shot with my models!

I hope you like Smiley

7  American Beauty Rose Capelet in Knitting: Completed Projects by rougeau26 on: January 06, 2006 11:53:25 AM
Here's the American Beauty Rose Capelet I made from Nicky Epstein's book, Knitting Over the Edge.  I ended up using 3 balls of Bernat Soft Boucle Yarn in soft rose.  I modified the pattern a little bit by making the whole capelet in garter stitch.  I didn't think the basketweave stitch the pattern called for would show up with the textured yarn.  I'm pretty pleased with how it came out, but the picture doesn't really do it justice.  I still can't master taking timed photos of myself, sorry.  Hope you all like it!  Oh, and if the picture doesn't show up, you can check it out on my blog: www.knittingnellie.blogspot.com  Smiley

Your halloween costume looks amazing!  You did a great job on your hat.  I got inspired to make my own, but I added pearl beads to give it a more "vintagey" feel.  What do you think?

If you can't see the picture, check it out at the blog I just started .... www.knittingnellie.blogspot.com
