I saw this fabric last week and had to make a purse out of it. here it is:

I am so digging this one strap idea. Its much easier and you dont have to worry about that second strap falling off of your shoulder all the time!

73  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Crazy Quilting Question... on: November 06, 2005 09:56:23 AM
Ok, so I know that crazy quilting isn't supposed to have  a specific pattern and each piece/block should be unique and original, BUT.....I am feeling particularly dense, lazy and un-creative.  I am dying to make a crazy quilt with a spiral in the middle of each block. I have seen a few on EBay and someone made a purse with one here.  Does anyone have a tutorial for this or any advice on how to get it to look right?  I have fiddled around with some ideas, but my mind just won't wrap around the concept right this second. Any tips/help/advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

74  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Hey, a luker finally posted something! on: November 05, 2005 10:27:24 PM
I am relatively new to the site and just ventured over here formthe purse boards to see what you guys were up to. Wow, I have seen some beautiful work!  I hope to frequent here more oftenand if time and patience permits, I hope to make some more quilts, lol.  Here are the only two I have ever made.

This was my first. I think I used every profanity in the book during the piecing process, but I was pleased with the outcome. And so was my sister(the one holding it), she begged for it and I let her have it.

This one was for my mom, for Mother's Day....this is just the top. The binding ended up being blue and the backing was mini flags.

Thanks for looking!

I have been busy, thanx to you guys.....I learned a new trick or technique every time I log in. I have cut my sewing time down to an hour for just one purse....and thats with 4 kids running around! Here are my latest:

of course this is my favorite...its gonna be hard to part with. (all 4 are up for bid on EBay)

I got lazy here and did a velcro closure on this one, lol

Thanx again guys, I got 2 more in progress as I type.

77  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Brief Intro and Some Purses I Have Made... on: October 11, 2005 04:44:46 PM
First of all, YOU GUYS ROCK!!!  I have been lurking here for months and have just been in awe at some of the creations I have seen.

I am a 26 year old mom of 4. I got into purse making a few months ago when I decided to make an Autism Awareness purse for myself.  I had come across this rockin puzzle print fabric and since its the trademark symbol if Autism awareness, I had to make a go at it.  After many failed attempts and wasted bargin bin fabric I finally 'perfected' (i use this term loosely) my pattern and made my first real purse.  Thank you Jordy!!!!   I have made over 15 of those purses now. I am finally now starting with other fabric as the puzzle print is running low.  Here are some of what I came up with. The first 3 are variations of the Autism ones.

I have made 10 of these. I got sick of looking at it and had to come up with something new.

This one took forever! I cut out each individual piece and used no-sew applique sheets. I only made 1.

This one is my newest design, takes the least of my precious fabric!!

I  LOVE this one. My sister did too. She took it.

My friend begged for this one

Gave this one to my mom

My First Backpack, kinda cute in a sheepish way, lol

I am working on some others now. I just love the sock monkey and bought a ton a fabric from EBAY a few weeks ago. I hope to have somethng finished soon. I will post when I do!
