1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: OWS Round 99 Discussion on: November 25, 2013 09:01:20 AM
All right, show's over and I'm officially watching the thread for someone to claim.  I have plenty of ceramic buttons
(3/4" to 1" diameter, in sets of 3-4).  I also have some small dishes, like candy dishes or something you might use
to put your jewelry on your nightstand.  There's a brown/white spoon rest in the mix, too.  I'll look for someone
that might want something along those lines, and I'll claim if I catch you in time!
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: Woven Clay Bowl on: November 03, 2013 12:31:51 PM
I really like how you kept the individual strips from squishing together when you put them over the mold.  I haven't done any woven clay pieces (not that I can remember, anyway), but the ones I see at my studio tend to look a little smushed.  That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I love yours.

I haven't swapped in a looooong time.  More than two years, I think.  I've been focusing on handmade ceramics, and I'm participating in a sale in a few weeks.  Many of the others are potters and ceramicists with many more years of experience and much more refined pieces than my own, so I expect that I'll have plenty left after the sale is done.  I signed up in hopes that some of my pieces might fit the bill for someone in this swap!

I have functional pieces such as dip bowls, serving pieces, and spoon rests.  I have some pendants (not all are finished, so I guess I should get on that) and pins.  Also, I realize that buttons generally go into the supply category, but I've made quite a few in sets of 3-4, and they're finished pieces that I've made with a lot of care.  (My finished pieces can be your supplies!)

The process of building, drying, waiting for the pieces to be fired, glazing, waiting for them to be fired again, and potentially having to glaze and refire if there are glaze defects means that I can't craft to specs with a two-week turnaround.  Not even close.  But I have way more pieces than I can handle for myself and if I have something I think you'd like, then I'd love to share.  But I'll mostly lurk until I find out what's left after the sale.

I stated in the questionnaire that I can't ship outside the US, since most items have to be wrapped in a lot of packing material and may be fragile.  However, I can make an exception for smaller items such as buttons and pendants.  Those could be packed in a padded envelope and I'd be confident about shipping them that way.
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Tree Swap Round 3 Gallery on: June 27, 2011 06:13:58 AM
Wow, posting these photos has turned into a real drama!  My laptop is a total diva, and because of that, I just figured out that it is possible to upload photos to Craftster straight from my phone.  But then I couldn't figure out how to cut and paste the photo URLs into a post... so off to a borrowed computer I've gone.

I received this lovely package from Keyzmasta:

The wreath is definitely going to be a favorite fall decoration around here.

Here are close-ups of the smaller items.  I really love the tree made with book pages!  Isn't it so cute and clever?

Thanks so much for swapping with me, Keyzmasta!  Hope you have a great summer!  Smiley

I also received, and so did my partner.

Keyzmasta and I received from each other!  I'm running from place to place, and it just got cloudy--so I'll post photos later.  Watch out for the cute cleverness she sent me!

Awesome!  My favorite purse is being used as an example in the original post!  (Rackycoo is a genius, and I still love my Scrabble purse!)

I"m sending a bit late due to an epic craft failure. I kept trying to fix it somehow and then finally decided that it was time to let it go to the great craft room in the sky.  Cheesy So, do-over time!
I don't have an epic craft failure.  It's more like an epic schedule failure.  I double-checked the pottery studio's online schedule and now it looks like they're closed for the day.  I can't go pick that last piece up on my way to the post office.  I'm going to try to sneak in, anyway.  Wish me luck!

My potentially-awesome ceramic tree piece isn't going to be finished in time for this swap--not even close.  If only I could control things going in and out of the kiln in the studio!  Oh, well.  It might be awesome, it might break... who knows?  If it turns out well, then I'll post it on Craftster.  If it doesn't, then I won't.  I'm going back to the studio to check for one more piece, see if it turned out, and then make some decisions as to what will go into the package for keyzmasta.
