11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: 2019 Make-A-Friend Revival: Miniature Version Gallery! on: May 26, 2019 06:46:44 AM
I love the embroidered Alaska hanky! Kittykills embroidery is seriously stitching goals.
I have terrible seasonal allergies and switched to vintage hankies a few years ago to avoid using so much Kleenex. People buy me stacks of them at yard sales and I tend to gravitate to prints. But, I have a stack of plain ones that I now see in a different light.

Favorite movies: Office Space, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Heathers,, Beetlejuice, Jawbreaker, Troop Beverly Hills, Saved!, the Royal Tennenbaums

Favorite Disney movies: Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Coco, Zootopia, Fantasia, A Bugs Life, and Inside Out

Not cartoons, but I also love Swiss Family Robinson, Hocus Pocus, and both the old and new Mary Poppins.

I finished up another item last night, so Im hoping to get everything packaged up, finish my last minute project, and send out on Tuesday! Well see what life throws at me though.  Cheesy

There are so many things that Ive made that Im proud of - usually thanks to swaps because they push me to actually finish things, and to do my very best. However, I took some classes in metalsmithing last year and Im SUPER proud of the things I can make with metal and a saw.

I made both of these rings - although I could use a refresher course in stone setting.

Im pretty handy with a jewelers saw, though.

As far as getting to know my partner, I feel like I have been a bit neglectful. Weve messaged back and forth a few times, but we are both busy moms. It feels like life gets in the way a lot. But, Im having so much fun crafting for Kartiana, and we are now friends on Facebook. Plus, she lives in a city not far from me, that I visit a few times a month, and we have a lot in common. So, I feel like our friendship wont end with this swap, and that we have the potential to meet in person someday!  Smiley

I'm still wobbling on the fence. How does everyone feel if I list things for outside of the house plants too? I'm desperately in need of decent plant markers for the garden.

It wouldnt bother me at all. Im sure I could come up with some plant markers.  Smiley

I finally got a nice chunk of time to spend on one of Kartianas items today. It still needs another step, but that is a hurry up and wait kind of thing. I have another item almost complete, except for the part I cant do until the last minute. And I picked up supplies today for one more thing. I could send out on time, but Ill take the extra days!

Oooh, I really want to sign up for this. Summer semester starts at the end of the month though and there is so much work. I peeked at the syllabus for one of my classes though, and for that one we are watching 2-3 movies a week. The only way I can sit through that many movies is if Im crafting. So... signing up for a swap will make me a better student, right!?

I've been caring for my infant nephew since last week while my SIL is in the hospital. I'M not sure how long I will be caring for him. This is totally not my area of expertise being 40 years old and no children of my own lol! I used to babysit for cousins like 20 years ago lol! But my nephew has to be fed though a feeding tube every 3 hours and I've had him round the clock the past few days... Luckily he is a pretty good baby . Wink But I am a bit paranoid so I don't get much sleep lol!

Thats a really big deal. How lucky your SIL is to have you! I think Id be pretty intimidated by having to feed through a tube - and every 3 hours! You totally got this, though. Im sure youre doing great already and what a neat opportunity to bond with your nephew. Not many aunties and uncles get to do that. Youre sure to have a special relationship for life. I hope your SIL recovers quickly and she can be with baby again soon. ❤️
